what do liberals mean when they say "i condemn political violence"?

The best option to stop Trump would have been for someone to pants him on live TV. He thrives on ego. As soon as you pants him on TV he becomes "the presidential candidate who got pantsed on live tv" and his supporters have to find a new "strongman" to build their cult around. Instead the establishment keeps treating him as a normal political figure who needs to be allowed to contribute to "the marketplace of ideas" instead of the joke that he is, and we get Biden effectively pantsing himself on live TV with a horrible debate performance.

have you seen how some of his followers are sporting solidarity diapers since it was revealed he wears them? these people are immune to embarrassment, they are literally shameless

There are people who will go that far but ultimately a lot of his supporters want trump to look "strong." If you have a viral meme of the dude getting humiliated in the worst way possible, suddenly that illusion of strength breaks. You will still get people doing stuff in solidarity like the diaper thing you mentioned but the people in my neighborhood who supported trump are too egotistical themselves to do something like that. It also comes down to a matter of when the embarassment happens. If he had been pantsed spectacularly at an RNC primary back in 2016 suddenly it would have been easy for the conservatives to turn on him because he would have looked "weak." If he had been pantsed on TV after Biden was first elected and right after loosing a court hearing it would have made him look like more of a failure. If he had been pantsed as president it would have been an "attack on democracy" and something that would have provoked him to commit an act of violence. For those supporters wearing diapers, doing so in solidarity is about making themselves feel better because it's about belonging to the in group of the "strong man." If you make the strong man look weak in a spectacular fashion they wouldn't abandon him out of embarrassment. They would abandon him because they themselves don't want to look weak and they want to feel "safe."

I agree, that's why I hated the attempt on his life, yes he is a piece of shit but he is a coward piece of shit and this only made him look stronger and I hated that so much. I don't want to go for the "we live in the darkest timeline" meme but man it really feels like it when we get this bs. Now I have to tolerate these people having an attempt on his life to "show" how strong he is, give me a break. I have a friend that really said this on a chat: "you I is you are doing something right when they are trying to kill you" 🤦🏽‍♂️ I couldn't help but reply telling him to think before saying saying such stupid takes 🤷🏽‍♂️
