Hey everybody!

Mailbag time!! I'm thick in the meat of Worst Wing episode 2, and have done all the research for Worst Wing 3, which will be about neoliberalism and aBuNdAnCe. Hit me with questions on that, 9/11, the war on terror, any of the shows I've talked about on roundups or video reviews, process, anything!

I'll post the link here as always but I'll be live on Monday 5/12 @ 5pm Pacific so submit your questions before then...LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsqD6uBersQ

I think the West Wing is a show that ultimately sees itself optimistic-- it shows people being "bold" and "brave" and inspired a lot of Dems to emulate the rhetoric of these characters. The real-life Democratic party is also notorious for being quite lackluster at bold, brave, etc. in their beliefs and actions in congress. How do you think the WW has played into this Democratic listlessness despite maintaining this public image as a show preaching strong and powerful advocacy for people who need it?

Hey. Been a while since you have done one of these and i have a ton of questions. 1. Any thoughts on the speech Vince Gilligan gave a few months back about how TV writers need to "write more good guys?" I personally agree with everything he said although the cynical part of me worries that shifting focus to writing more heroic protagonists won't make much of a difference. Especially after this week when a bunch of reddit trolls tried to convince me that John Walker from marvel's "falcon and the winter soldier" did nothing wrong and was totally justified in murdering an unarmed man in cold blood. 2. Would you ever do a "deep dive" video into a specific episode of TV that you like and if so, which one might you pick? 3. I've asked before if you might do a video on advertising and you have expressed interest. In light of the particularly horrible "severance" themed ads you showed off on patreon recently, has that interest increased? 4. DC and Warner Brothers are currently developing a Green Lantern show that is being describe as a kind of sci fi take on "true detective." I'm guessing you are aware of it given that you are a fan of Damon lindeloff, but are you aware that one of the people working on the project is Tom King, who is literally an ex CIA officer that was inspired to join the CIA after 9/11? Given the fact that an ex CIA officer is working on the show and its supposed to be a show about "space cops solving a small town murder" might this show be a potential candidate for a copaganda video when the series is released next year? 5. I personally haven't watched the new Daredevil show but I know that there is a subplot about cops using the punisher logo. When Bernthal was first cast in the role originally almost a decade ago he talked multiple times about how "the punisher meant so much to law enforcement" like it was a virtue. Sadly it seems like the only lesson he has learned in post "we own this city" is to focus on praising military personnel who like the punisher instead. (https://www.cbr.com/jon-bernthal-the-punisher-skull-symbol-controversy/) I have a friend who has talked about how the punisher skull needs to be be "taken back" as a symbol but at this point i'm not sure it can or even that it should be. Any thoughts on Disney's attempts to address the use of the punisher logo, Berenthal, etc? 6. Are you familiar with the work of Alec karakatsanis? He has done multiple social media threads about how online news media perpetuates "copaganda" and just released a book called "copaganda." Have you read any of his work while doing research for your videoes, and are you planning to read his book? Have you reached out to him to talk given that you both seem to be doing similar work? (EDIT: Based on your bluesky post it looks like the answer is yes but im gonna leave thus question up in case some one on patreon reads it and gets curious about Alex's work.) 7. Finally a lighter question. One of my fascinations is unmade movies. Projects that were in development and even had scripts but fell apart behind the scenes and never got filmed. Is there a TV project that never got made which you REALLY wish you could see or read a script for?

Hi, Jona here, surprised I'm getting this Patreon for free, the 100 Most Acclaimed TV Episodes metalist (list made out of lists) is coming in the near future, hopefully before December 2026, been dealing with a lot of mental and personal problems, my phone is acting wonky on me, and I just have been lacking motivation to work on the project with the amount of lists I have to collect. PS: It is also my bday today

I recently finished watching Lost for the first time after seeing you and another YouTube creator recommend it so highly and found it pretty interesting! Why do you think the ending was so divisive? Do you think we're going to see something of a Lost Renaissance or reevaluation in the next few years given there's a new cohort of critics/creators banging the drum for it and discussing how influential it seems to have been on modern TV?
