The Bog Queen

How do you feel about so many shows and services abandoning the binge model of dropping full seasons at once to return to weekly episodes? Capitalist grab for more clicks, or boon to the viewer? Also, is a hot dog a sandwich?

This is a complicated question, but if you've heard of the site, RateYourMusic, it allows you to vote on the best music, TV shows and they have a videogame section, called Glitchwave, if they allowed you to vote on TV shows by season (so a show like The Simpsons with 30+ seasons akin to a band with 30+ albums), do you think Twin Peaks: The Return (since RYM adores Twin Peaks) would be number 1, or do you think miniseries (which are included on Letterboxd) shouldn't be allowed? I know a few people on RYM, say that they would love a TV show section, and Letterboxd already does miniseries, so, should shows with seasons be included, in this hypothetical idea, compared to a miniseries, already compared to a film? Also, expect my 100 Most Acclaimed TV Episodes project to be done by this decade *fingers crossed*

What did you think of "The Batman" and is it copaganda? Personally I really liked it, mainly because it didn't champion extrajudicial murder like lots of other super hero films seem to. However I do think the film seemed more interested in perpetuating the idea that we just need 'the right people' in charge rather than exploring how certain systems can be inherently unethical and that bugged me at times. Did you know they were originally planning to make a spin off series focusing on the GCPD, about a corrupt cop? According to Matt Reeves it would have explored how Gotham's police were its worst gang. This idea has apparently been abandoned, but had it been made do you think it would have been possible for the show to critically examine the failures of policing as an institution given that it would have been set in a heightened reality like Gotham City, rather than a fictional representation of a real city? Obviously all cops shows present fictionalized versions of reality to their audiences but I feel like it would be harder to make a show like 'The Sheild' if the writers had switched the setting of the show to Gotham City.

Can you talk about the difference on how Money Heist portray Spanish law enforcement vs American copaganda?

Jorge

That sounds fantastic
