People are quieter after the train than before. I like it better to stand on the train platform while the subway leaves and small groups move quietly toward the exits. But in order to use the subway you have to wait when everyone is waiting and laughing and fighting and looking at you. And you have to step forward when the doors open and you have to get on board. The train starts moving again, and that moment of peace stays behind for someone else while you cling to the bar.
