It takes place around 2025. :3 The organization's tech is probably a few more years ahead.

So they would have technology to recover heavier stuff from the moon. Or maybe even build a moon base...?

Yes :3 They have a small base located in the crater next to the alien space ship.

Oh, is that the base of the setting? THat would explain a lot of things. But also open more questions about who launches rockets full of sexy outfits.

Haha, no, the Janus main base is down on earth :3 The moon base is just for excavating the ship and first impression evaluation of tech extracted from it. The heavy sciences takes place on earth.

It's a global secret organization. Governments of various countries and even some select private companies funds it. :3
