As promised, a day late, but not a dollar short! Almost 7k words (21 pages) for you guys!

Also, a VERY rough sketch of Rei's upcoming colored pencil commission!

Enjoy!

A few rules & reminders:

  • Chapters will be dropping as Bryce completes them. That means anywhere from every 1 to 2 weeks on average, though sometimes waits may be longer.
  • Recall that these are rough chapters, with no editing other than a single pass-through as Bryce writes.
  • On a similar note, we are not asking for advice or corrections at this time. If Bryce wants feedback, we will certainly reach out, thank you!

That's it, so without further ado... Enjoy!

SPOILER…..... Ok so guesses for the ability she develops? 👀 I'm thinking Distortion, would work so well with her spear

Shannon Bryce

I was just thinking looking at the sketch I know Rei isn't supposed to have scars on his face just his body, but wouldn't he have scars on his face from the jaw joint at a minimum on both sides? Maybe it was explained somewhere. 🤔 Awesome chapter.

Randy George

I'm guessing she gets "break step" or "magnetic hunt". She doesn't have a problem with defense and the prevailing theory is that CAD's give them what they need not what they are already good at. Besides Firesong doesn't have that yet.....although it would be a good one for Viv to have. Probably Viv will get something for defense though since that's her weakness when it's her turn.

Buddy Wooten

That was Awesome!!! Can’t wait to see what she gets!11

This definitely looks more like what I imagine Ward to look like just like the first book cover. Also keep up the good work I am enjoying every bit of it!

Ibiso Charles

BRYCE, why did you do that to me😭? Is it Friday yet?

Lukas

Good read. I liked the character expansion and the show of growth between both of them. I especially liked the subtle tease about grants past.

DarthPineapples

Rei and Aria floating back to back surrounded by debris would make amazing artwork

Marcus

Bryce my man, what in the actual fuck was that cliffhanger😭😭😭😭😭😭
