I allowed some flexibility on the "no feedback" rule on yesterday's chapter because I was curious about some things, but given the prevalence of one concern I thought I needed to remind everyone of something important:

Stormweaver is not a serial novel. It is a traditional novel that I am releasing Early Access chapters to, and is not actually meant to be read in a weekly format.

Chapter 29, on the whole, is a shorter chapter, with Chapter 30 coming quickly to answer your unresolved questions about Chapter 28. In novel form, there would be no pause in information unless you choose to put the book down.

Like I said, while I'm not looking for feedback, I allowed some flexibility yesterday. I'm reimplementing the rule strictly starting now, however. My enjoyment of the writing process is paramount to me, and when everyone is questioning my work (which I otherwise have the utmost faith will come together in the end with edits) it makes me hesitate (and not in a good way), makes me dislike what I'm working on, and slows everything down.

If you guys are looking for an outlet to discuss your concerns and qualms, let me know, and I will make the Reddit discussion post the space for at (where it's easy to turn of notifications).

Cheers, and look forward to Chapter 30 and some answered questions hopefully this Friday!

Your writing/story telling is fantastic. Take all criticism with a grain of salt 🧂

A space to just put conjectures would be really nice! Just writing what we think will happen next is so much fun, but yeah, sorry if it comes off as questioning your work or thought process 😞

It's why I rarely comment on anything speculation can be done on discord servers

Just wanted to apologize, then! I had intended a joke re: the cliffhanger, not any sort of criticism or feedback on pacing.

The 90s were so much better in the sense of criticism. If you were a douche bag you got punched for it. In today's age people hide behind their screens and try to rip down people who are being successful or just do their best to be a dick because they don't have any fear of having to answer for their actions. Don't let douche bags get to you bro. Most of the people who give the shit feelings are just miserable people who can't stand to see someone else succeed.

I don't think it was your post. There were some asses (blindingly obvious who by checking the comment thread) who felt they needed to tell Bryce how he should be structuring his narrative and why he was telling the story wrong. I saw those comments yesterday and was expecting some pushback from Bryce. Some people just can't appreciate a good thing.

When passive aggressive sprinkles on a little Chile powder for just hint of spice 😝 get em Bryce

Never hurts to apologize tho! I know how even a well intended joke can land badly if other people are being less than kind on the same topic. Going back and reading that post today I was clearly not in the best of company with my joke, unfortunately!

These chapters are great!! We all have no idea where the story is set to go so we are all just passengers along on the ride. Thanks Bryce for letting us see the drafts as you create the world we love to escape to. Ignore those idiots. Enjoy your awesome gift of creativity and shut all those bumbleheads down by following your planned path to the end of the story in your head. That story is why we are all here happily paying monthly to sit in the corner of your writing space and read about your characters as you make them come alive on the page. Don't let haters steal your joy man. 😊

I love the story I just wanted to know what the Major said that pissed everyone off that much….

I personally download each chapter and wait for them to build up to like three or four before reading it. The book is great and I cant say that I was ever a fan of someone standing over my shoulder while I work. Props for you being able to do so. Looking forward to the next chapter!

I vote for absolutely allowing the reddit threads to hold suggestions/feedback. The problem is that no matter how many times you say no feedback, there will always be people who somehow think "Well he doesn't mean me, he just means everyone else making stupid suggestions, he'll be happy to hear my suggestion, it makes so much sense! Once he reads it he might even bring me on as a beta reader! Yeah that's it, I'll just post it here to make sure he sees what a good idea this is... " so I say allow people to post those things in the reddit thread and just ignore them at your leisure lol.

I just want to say that it is your book and your writing process. Yes, you have a lot of fans (me included) that would prefer to never stop reading. But that's also my point. You could drop the book on us tomorrow and I'm sure less than 48 hours later the first will say how great it was only to start nagging about the next chapters. The fact is this is a service to get chapters in advance and if some can't appreciate it or ruin their enjoyment of the story for themselves it isn't your fault and shouldn't affect you in the slightest. I know money can be a factor with a lot of jobs and you build up your own goals, but who does it serve if your writing suffers only to meet these non-existing deadlines? I believe your story will be at its best if you are happy while writing it and looking forward to writing the next chapter. If you need to take some time off, that is your right! Just find your own pace and enjoyment. Personally, I'd rather wait 3 years for your best then have an unhappy writer piece something together asap

This is ironic as I'm giving you feedback but you should create a channel for feedback... And then never look at it again. That way people can express themselves and you can keep your feed clear
