Hi all. A few things.

Firstly, there will be no sneak peek tomorrow. You will understand when 50 drops on Friday.

Secondly, I ask that those of you who may be sensitive to the subject matter take the anecdote quoted at the top of the chapter seriously.

Lastly, in reference to that anecdote, I am and will be making a rare request for feedback on its use/appropriateness. **** This conversation will be happening on r/Warformed in the announcement post, since conversations are much easier to have there than here on Patreon.****

I wanted to build it into the story in a way that felt as natural as possible to the theme those anecdotes take of "this is part of the world and relevant to the chapter you are about to read", but at the same time be real-word functional for those it may be important to.

For that reason, again, I am and will be making a rare request for feedback on its use/appropriateness on r/Warformed.

So if you'd like to participate and have a moment Friday, please join us on the post I'll be linking extra-obviously on the Early Access release that morning. This conversation is also free to extend beyond the anecdote into the actual scene and story as well, as I want this chapter to hit very hard, but in the right way.

Cheers all. I'm off to cuddle the pup. This was written as discovery, and Logan's story was much more heartbreaking than I realized. Been a while since my writing hit me this hard.

Looking forward to it! I can’t wait to hear more about “Grant’s” background.

I made an author friend of mine bawl her eyes out. I asked her to use me and she agreed. I told her I was fine with being red shirted but preferably in a way that it really meant something. Well she red shirted me, it was a key heroic moment that allowed the good guys to ultimately win. She told me she was crying hard the entire time she was writing that scene.

This is just as much of a tease as a the previews are damnit. I wonder what can possibly be so controversial.

Oh man, I feel like I will need to seal up the water works

I do think it's great when a character you create can take you by the hand and guide YOU down a path simultaneously unexpected, but also making sense in hindsight At least that's the vibe I am getting from that last bit.

Strength to you Bryce! As always puppy cuddles are the way to happiness Incidentally it would be lovely if there's a "the story so far" (i.e. one PDF) for chapter 50

Going to hp into the discussion with my perspective when the chapter drops, for sure, but leaving it here as well, because I am going through my DnD Chaotic phase... I am guessing this is about Logan's sister, and I think it is a subject that some people will naturally be triggered by, either as a result of a similar experience in their family or social circle, or simply because they feel they should gate-keep that type of issue for the sake of everyone else. However, I also feel the issue needs to be discussed in an appropriate way, especially in the context of mental health and trauma aftermath, both in terms of how they affect the victim but also the sensation of survivor's guilt. Bryce has shown a willingness to treat difficult subjects constructively and with sensitivity, so it is something I am on-board with and I trust that he will do a good job with it. So no pressure :P

there was a hint in book 1 of 'a slender figure whose legs did not quite reach the floor', I would assume discussing that with the requisite sensitivity would be tough. As would a number of other topics around family issues, trauma, etc

Sigh... Cliffhangers are mean! :)

So Grant is going to be trans then. I've seen alot of authors do this. Some authers can pull it off, but must can't.

It seems more like taking away from the story whatever it is. This whole book I’ve felt like the MC has become a side character who everyone else talks about but I’m not getting to see become more he’s literally grown like 2in and 2 levels this whole book and I have no idea why it matters because no one cares anymore!

Sam

Are we sure it is Logan's sister? It could also be his mom. I am convinced that it is a female family member that he was close to though.

Jake, if you have concerns and qualms, the place to voice them is on Reddit as we have requested repeatedly in the past. This will be our only request, thank you.

I set my alarm for 12.00 am. I'll be checking my inbox, no pressure lol. This book is touching on a lot of topics that can only have persons gravitate to it even more. One of my end of week pleasures

You want me to make comments on something im paying to be a part of on another website entirely? Dont worry I ended my membership this month and wont bother with this book anymore thanks for whatever.

Wraithmarked Creative

That is certainly your right, though we will point out that these rules have been in place for months and months, Jake. Have a nice weekend.

Now we know the baggage Logan carries and the reason for his hatred of cowards… yet something is bothering me… ANY CAD user that is combat able would have stood his grown (if enough of his peers were there to support). Connor must have been a terrible officer to not have anyone loyal enough to stop him. As a service member I can tell you that fear for myself will make me run. Fear for my brothers will make me stay… he must not have had that. Also it’s weird that HIM leaving made the chain of command lapse… EVERY chain of command has secondary and third level of command responsibility. Even if all Officer pounded sand and deserted … the Senior enlisted would have stayed the course… so I call bullshit on Connor being the linchpin

Patrick Boutier

Kinda agreeing with this observation with some caveat. Yes redundancy is built in military chain of command. Caveat #1: there are very little details on the events succession during the Archon attack on S-Charlie; it may have erased a good portion of the defense cadre and/or communications, thus inducing chaos and a rapid defeat. Caveat #2: we have no information on the military doctrine, which could be similar to the present-day Russian concept of having middle officers and NCOs leading in combat. We see how this is faring in Ukraine (NB: NOT trying to add any opinion here, and NOT wanting to open any discussion)

Wow! That was a tough one... Logan opening up about his heavy past is BIG! It's heavy and emotionally straining but this kind of event is part of our world too. IMHO, I really like how the characters are being revealed so far and how they get their turn in the limelight. It adds a lot to this sequel. Loving it, Bryce!
