Concept Art 009: Fire Bloom Form (Patreon)

The fire bloom form is most likely either the first or second bloom form asher learns (depending on how early I decide to introduce the mechanic) and tentatively it could take place during Beatrix's Arc since she is a Fire Mage, so the heavens key will probably sense her Fire magic aura (or even bloom form) and then it will imitate it turning Asher into Hylocereus.

Hylocereus is the name of a fruit known here in Mexico as Pithaya, but you probably know it by the Name of Dragon fruit. I used the fruit itself as inspiration for the color palette, the details, and some shapes. I wanted him to feel like a dragon samurai, so I made the mask with the dragon horns that could also be taken as the stamen part of a flower.

You will probably notice that through all the bloom forms, the rough sketchy concepts are super different that the final thing, that's mostly cuz those were the first explorations I made of the bloom forms before designing the final version of Brugmansia (Lightbringer form) and after he was finished then I was able to stick to a certain design style/motif.
