Concept Art 019: Itzam Cabain (Patreon)

The Mayan people believed that the earth was merely the back of a Holy reptile, some sources call it an alligator/crocodile others depict it more like a snake, and in some other sources is referred to as a turtle, this entity is in which humanity live on according to Mayan people, it is known as Itzam Cabain.

If the name rings any bells, it is because it was mentioned in Otto's bio as the supposed god of the crocolyd that the empire of Exicom and the Ekpyrosis are looking for. Itzam Cabain was supposed to be represented more like a giant alligator but due to the sources sometimes saying otherwise I decided to make it ambiguous and implement a little of everything, the shell form of a turtle, the head of an alligator, and the tail of a rattlesnake. Also, all Nephilim have some sort of wings, since in the mythos they are depicted as angels, so I wanted to keep the motif and give them wings in the shape of mechanical appendices or instruments to all of them.

This is the last Nephilim I have designed so far (the ones left to design would be Chaac and Ah Puch, although having Itzamna and Xtabay would be cool those would be extra if I decide to make all the Nephilim elementals), so next week we will start seeing more secondary characters and talking more about their context and side stories.
