Design Diary: Forge Centaur Test Prints (Patreon)
Content
Fresh off the test print rack is the first Forge Centaur. It's a beast!
Test printing is so essential to sculpting. You just never know how 'right' you got things in the digital world until it's in your hands. For me, test printing lets me know:
Did I get the sizing and proportions right
Do I need to make certain elements thicker, bigger, deeper so they print great and will show up when painted
Are components supported enough to print reliably, that you can game with the model without worrying you'll break something
Constantly looking at the test print and asking myself what little chain or strap needs to be improved
As you can see, it's a very iterative process and all those dot points above I picked up from this one test print.
Plus, nothing beats having it sitting on my desk as I'm sculpting away; there's something almost meditative about getting to just look at your models :)
Forge Centaurs are Junes beastly release and on track.

P.S this was also tested against sizing existing shoulder armour from previous releases - it works as shown in the test print! The place for the head will also fit resized existing heads from the range too (182% enlargement for all components to fit the beast).
