The goal of MeshyMesh has always been to create more than just a collection of miniatures.

The aim is to build a truly modular Evil Dwarf ecosystem; “Evil Dwarf Lego”, where every release expands what is possible on the tabletop, allowing you to create armies with their own identity, character and story.

Furnace Cults mark the beginning of the next major step in that vision.

What are they?

Furnace Cults are the religious, philosophical and specialist orders of Evil Dwarf society.

Though their belief or method may differ, all exist for a single purpose: the ruination and domination of the enemy. Empowered by the creed of the Fellsmiths to pursue victory without restraint, they devote themselves to every aspect of destruction; be it war, dark gods, forbidden knowledge or powers stolen from rival deities.

Each cult bears its own identity, expressed through unique armour, helms, shields, weapons and engines of war, yet all are united by the same truth: everything is merely material to be forged into a weapon.

What it means for you?

Every new Furnace Cult release expands the existing ecosystem, adding more interchangeable components to your growing library of Evil Dwarf parts. The larger the range becomes, the more opportunities there are to create unique warriors, characters, units and armies.

Each cult brings its own distinct visual identity while remaining fully compatible with the modular system, allowing you to create forces that feel uniquely your own.

They won’t be released each month, and the priority will continue to be on completing the various units to build a complete army. However, you could say Furnace Cults are the icing on the cake, fun ways to explore a different side of the Evil Dwarf hobby.

Where you come in

Furnace Cults open the door to countless possibilities.

What aspects of Evil Dwarf society would you like to see explored? Siege cults? Beast cults? Fire cults? Sorcerous orders?

Your suggestions will help shape future Furnace Cult releases.

Tomorrow: The Ironhorn Covenant

The first Furnace Cult emerges.

Tomorrow we'll take a closer look at the Ironhorn Covenant and its components joining July's release.

I'd love to see a berserker cult - like a dark reflection of the Slayers and/or Fyreslayers from That Company.

Macaroth

Sooo many possibilities. Very cool ideas and concepts in there. Personally I‘d love to see a forgefire-cult the most probably to fit in with the K‘Daai, but siege is very fitting aswell or a sorcerer‘s guard. This is going to be good

MeshyMesh Miniatures

Berserkers are something which I notice keeps coming up. Good thing I have some ideas! What kind of ideas do you have for dark slayer look?

MeshyMesh Miniatures

Thanks! Yeah, the ideas are endless, and I love that aspect of it. The forgefire cult idea sounds very different though - which means very different parts to use for other things. What ideas spring to mind?

Cat Lawrie

If I were designing them personally, I'd probably juxtapose armoured sections, bare flesh, and flame - maybe they're something like D&D Azer, with metal skin with flame gouting out of cracks similar to a slayer's crest? Or there was that one slayer who had a crest made of nails hammered into his scalp, that would look brutal paired with the dreadlocked beard. Thinking on, you'd probably get something most of the way there by scaling the centaur torsos down to dwarf size and sticking them on the core kit legs.

Cat Lawrie

I'm fairly sure somebody on Chaos Dwarves Online back in the day made some, though god knows what they used back pre-3d printing.

Macaroth

Coming from the idea of bound demons in machine constructs I thought of some… passive influence of guarding this process, like minor possession. Flames bursting out of the helmts eyes and gills, burning beads or beard-ends. Could go very well along a beserker-style-unit like slayers or for the centaurs aswell. Basically a fire-possessed cult

I have 3 questions fot those nice looking helmets: - Is it possible to remove the beard on a 3d software in order to add them on top of the FW bodies ? - Are they scaled to the fw 28mm or to the 32mm ? - Is it possible to buy the ironsworn helmets/shield separatly ?

MeshyMesh Miniatures

Thanks for the questions! 1. It probably would be if you know how to slice models in software. I imagine the head connection would need to be moved or resized also. 2. Scaled to the 28mm size 3. It will be shortly in another FW conversion pack. If the other conversion packs are anything to go by it always needs some reworking, resizing and a bit of test printing to make sure things fit properly
