October Release: The Blacksmoke Rotor Takes Flight! (Patreon)
Content
While the last few touches are being made to the Corrupted Siege Giant, something else has very loudly, flew out of the forge...
The Blacksmoke Rotor has now been released and can be built in its standard or bomber variant and is available as part of the October rewards for ALL paid Patreon members.
Get it here and use your discount code or it will be released to your MMF Libraries shortly.
Evil Dwarfs Aeronautical Expansion
By every sensible principle of engineering, the Blacksmoke Rotor should not fly.
It's too heavy, carries far too much armour, is covered in weapons and is powered by an enormous engine that belches enough black smoke into the sky to announce its arrival several leagues in advance.
When these concerns were raised with the Fellsmiths responsible for its construction, they reportedly responded by fitting it with a larger engine.
Problem solved.
The result is a machine that remains airborne through a combination of excessive power, questionable engineering and the Evil Dwarfs' general refusal to accept that the laws of nature apply to them.
The Fellsmiths insist it works perfectly.
And technically, they're right.
Build Your Blacksmoke
The kit contains 31 components, with enough parts to build one Blacksmoke Rotor and plenty of options for configuring your machine:
Standard Blacksmoke Rotor or heavier Bomber variant
Steam Cannon
Heavy Flamer
Quad Gun
Bombs that can be fitted beneath either variant
Wing-mounted rockets
Bomb racks
Stopper connections if you decide that perhaps not every available surface needs explosives attached to it
Two different exhaust stand heights
The propeller comes prebuilt but also there is a separate zip if you want to print and assemble the propeller instead of printing it in one big thing.
50mm square and 50x75mm round bases
The pilot's head and shoulder armour are compatible with components from the wider Evil Dwarf range, so there's plenty of opportunity to customise your increasingly concerned-looking pilot.
The two exhaust stand heights also mean you can field multiple Rotors at different elevations, because apparently building one of these things wasn't enough.
The Blacksmoke works nicely as a flying war machine, but its compact footprint also makes it a great option for a suitably excessive unit filler.
You can grab it here or I'll be running the MMF distribution shortly to your libraries.
It joins the Iron War Barge, the bigger brother to the Blacksmoke Rotor.
October Begins
The Blacksmoke Rotor is the first release out of the forge for October while I finish off the remaining work on the Corrupted Siege Giant.
The Hobgoblin Mercenaries are also coming as part of October's Conquest & Mercenaries releases, so there's plenty more on the way.
For now, fire up the printer and see whether Evil Dwarf aviation proves any more reliable on your tabletop than it probably deserves to be.
Available now to all paid Patreon members.
Now... back to the forge.
