OOPS! MY MISTAKE ON STARTING THE NOMINATIONS! (Patreon)

So sorry, Gang, I posted a nominations poll, and it appears it wasn't time yet. I just discovered there is yet even more Baki content at Netflix that I wasn't aware of. Apparently, there are two seasons of "Baki Hanma" that follow what we are now watching, so it was far too early to post nominations to replace it.

I'm gonna continue crossing my fingers that the quality of the writing picks up as we go, but we'll see. 😁

Sorry about the screwup... I'll get the nominations posted again, as soon as we get to the second season of "Baki Hanma".

It was just a senior moment. It happens. 😜

This was one of those rare times that my memory didn't fail me. I simply didn't know this further season existed.

J Johnson

Don't get your hopes up for the writing, the fights do get more ridiculous though if that helps heh.

I was just teasing anyway lol. I'll look forward to the next nomination period to request something good.

Ruuji Hasegawa

For some unknown reason, I feel more powerful today. 😅

Charlie baker

yeah unfortunately og baki i would say is the peak of baki having reasonable writing haha

Jokage

I probably missed something.. are you still doing it’s always sunny ?

Yup, I mentioned it when Apothecary Diaries interrupted Sunny, that it was just a quick series that was filling in to give people a little more variety, but Sunny would pick right up again when AD was done... There may be short series inserted between seasons of longer shows at the $1 level here and there.

Chrome

I think subconsciously you just wanted to get away from baki, I don't blame you lol, I said the series was just a meme for a reason. Well... 2 more weeks I guess

Ian McBride

We need Shiki for Halloween imo.

I don't recall that doing well in nominations... I definitely could be misremembering, though.

I didn't think you'd have such a hang-up with the writing. It's understandable though it's bad but honestly I loved baki because it's so over the top and ridiculous it became goofy to me. Idk I just enjoyed it for the absolute absurdity and spectacle. It was kinda a refreshing watch for me 😅

The fights are fun to watch and are well done. But their is NO rooting interest in any of them for me, other than rooting for some well done violence, because the lack of any competent writing prevents me from feeling a connection to any of the characters... I genuinely can't imagine anyone not having at least a bit of a "hang-up with the writing", considering how bad it is.

Unfortunately the character writing doesn't get much better in Baki, but fortunately it stops focusing so much on that and sticks more to what it does well. The fights keep getting more and more over the top and ridiculous. So no, the quality of the writing doesn't really pick up at all, but thankfully it doesn't matter as much either.

I feel like I got misinterpreted. I wasn't complaining about your take or trying to argue, I actually agree with your stance on the writing. I was just sharing what caused me enjoy the show for what it was.

Lewd Angel

Quality pickup? Not particularly, but they do stop running with the awkward romance and character relationships and just stick to more outright violence and 1 v 1's, thats basically what makes the show fun is that its a turn your brain off and enjoy the punching kind of series, and to its credit it is fully aware of this

Heavenly Demon

It was your subconscious telling you to do the polls so inuyasha can finally win. You get great fights, story and character development .

No, not at all. I was just expanding on the downsides - as well as what does work - more. In re-reading, because I quoted “hang-up with the writing” it did make it sound like I was taking offense. I didn’t mean it to come off that way.

Ruuji Hasegawa

Oh man, reading these comments, looks like I'm in the minority here who actually enjoys the writing in Baki. 🥲 But to be fair, I've read the manga as well while watching it.

Oh ok no worries, I'm relieved I genuinely thought I somehow pissed you off 😂
