So when I originally got to this point all I could think was how stacked our US-Japan was against China. A revived and Stronger Baki Hanma (who already beat Retsu who is one of two non frauds on team China) Yujiro Hanma (Name Speaks for Itself) Oliver (He crumpled a man) Other than Anime Old Man and Retsu at this point I was ready for everyone else to be frauds

Poor Retsu stuck on the team opposite all the main characters. What's crazy is he also wasn't even nominated for the title of Kaioh at first and had to go the extra mile to prove himself (granted, that might have been his mentor's intention in the first place, and he held Retsu back in order to further motivate him.) But if you look at all the other Kaiohs, aside from the old man, it feels like Retsu was the only one who was actually did the title justice.

the deathrow arc in the last season is a little dry and poorly written and I'm not claiming great emotional stakes and high drama lay ahead but from this season on the plot and intrigue really to get leagues better.

Yea, I'm a couple episodes ahead, and while the writing is still rough at times, it's MUCH better than the previous arc!

Yujiro feels so much more chill as a villain. It's weird not having an explicit reason/arc, but this doesn't feel like the same man that VIOLATED Hanayama and Baki in S1, or tore out his own son's jugular in season 2... I like the character more now at least.
