The bugs lifespan only being 1 year really puts in perspective omni man's view of humans since he lives thousands of years. I found myself not caring about the bugs deaths because they only live a year anyway.

If there wasn't a more perfect encapsulation of how different the mental outlook of Viltrumies and Humans is than this, i don't know what it'd be. For Mark its been a few months, for Nolan it probably feels like a week, but in his new wifes lifespan its around a decade. And thats not accounting for how the psychological turmoil Mark and Nolan are having is affecting their perception of time. Still, to be able to seemingly turn around centuries of indoctrination of the lifestyle of his people because of a 20 year marriage?
