Exactly how much does Adam know?! Is it very fine detail? Regardless, I think we're gonna see a round of Jonas vs. Jonas!

Season 2 episode 6 is probably my favorite episode in the series just because of how much it makes everything from the first season connect with how we finally figure out how mikkel even got through the tunnel in the first place and why Martha was so confused when Jonas told her that they were just not a good match when she confronted him in the rain in season one. But also because of how powerful the conversation between Jonas and Mikkel was jonas finally gets his answers that he's been looking for since episode 1. Why his father killed himself? They were not the ones he wanted and it's only made more tragic by seeing how happy jonas was the day before and seeing how much Mikkel loved jonas. Once Mikkel understood the situation he had no doubt in his mind of what he had to.

The war against oneself that Jonas goes through in this show is very interesting and pretty unique. In most time travel media it's a bit of an unwritten rule to not interact with your past self. whereas in dark the characters often take a heavy-handed approach and directly influence their past self so to stay as their present self now. Even Adam himself noted on how he didn't believe he could say the same words that he remembered from when he was on the other side of this same conversation. To answer your question at the end there Adam knows everything jonas has and will experience if he didn't and jonas strayed from his actions Adam would cease to exist. He even got all misty eyed as he sent jonas through the portal knowing what he sent himself to do.

Not sure if you noticed but at the end there we see older versions of magnus and francheska with Adam. Magnus asked why they couldn't have told our jonas.

I had noticed that, too, about most time travel stories containing that hard line "don't interact with yourself" concept. I like the elements of this story that don't go down that path!

Yea, the way this is threading back together is masterfully done... and emotionally hard-hitting!
