What they said about over relying Charizard does make sense as well by the way, think about it, outside of Charizard like half of Ash's team team is completely unevolved (squirtle, bulbasaur, chikorita), he caught Bulbasaur and Squirtle basically around the same time he caught Charmander (Charizard), but neither of those two have even reached their mid stage evolution. honestly I think this send off hits a lot harder then when Butterfree left, we've known Charizard for a fairly long time now, and he's gone through at decent amount of growth during that time. I mean, he reconciled with Ash and was basically the backbone of his team, still, it was honestly a nice send off episode for him, I mean even Team Rocket supported him at the end, now he's began his own training to become stronger.

Figures, Charizard was disobedient for the longest time, and when he finally started to listen to Ash, he had to get rid of him. If Pikachu wasn't the mascot of Pokemon, I'd be thinking he was next on the chopping block.
