Certainly one of the heroes here is my boy, Quark!... And, understandably, heroics don't come cheap!

it's honestly hard to hate Quark, like, Ferengi should be easy to hate, they're greedy conniving sleaze, but... there's a weird fun charm to them in DS9, I mean Quark is just so blatant about who he is, it's just hard to truly hate him lol, and he does occasionally do good. It's funnier when you realise Ferengi were originally meant to be the Federation's big antagonist in TNG as a "capitalist" alternative to the Federation, but the writers just couldn't make it work (because season 1 and 2 TNG writers mostly just wrote bad strawmen instead of real characters), well, until DS9 when they were actually allowed to be fleshed out instead of just comically evil. My thoughts on this episode is that it's a decent episode, but I can tell that it probably started as a script for TNG (it has a lot of TNG traits), but they add enough to make it work for DS9, we get some good Quark and Odo moments, it's nice to see a bit more of O'Brien, and tying it into a boobytrap the underground left during Bajor's occupation is a good connection. We're actually still in what's considered the weakest part of DS9, I think early season 1 is still good, it helps set the characters up, but as we go the episodes will get a lot better.

Deep space nine is definitely one of my favorite Star Trek series. This show gets better with every episode.

On Netflix (atleast where I live) this would be episode 4 Babel. Hope this helps others to sync up.
