Everything worked out well, but I gotta admit, a golden Sudowoodo would have been pretty freakin' cool!

Lord Baldur

Is this is the first time we saw a shiny in the series?

Denickart

This is the final episode by the original animation team. Starting next episode the team that previously worked on the 1997 Berserk anime takes over.

No, there's been a few times so far, Ash's Noctowl, Winona's Swellow, Jackson's Magneton, the Red Gyarados, the shiny shuckle and gold magikarp are what we've seen so far. Also to be more accurate the golden sudowoodo is more like a unique variant like the pink butterfree or crystal onix cause thats not Sudowoodos shiny colours

So fun little tidbit, that scene where Jessie want to throw a normal Sudowoodo into the pond to make it gold is based off a Japanese myth or folklore or the like called Kin-no-Ono, Gin-no-Ono, if im remembering it correctly it goes "There was a woodcutter who accidentally dropped his axe into a pond, and then a goddess pops out and asks him if he dropped either this golden axe or this silver axe, and because he tells the truth that it was just a regular axe she gifts him both of them for being truthful along with his regular axe" Edit: I looked into it a bit, and apparently its not 100% Japanese, its the Japanese version on Aesops Fable "The Honest Woodcutter", which is didnt know cause ive only ever seen this when reading Manga/Light Novels or watching anime
