I really like this episode We get to meet brook family and you really see how much of a parental figure brook is compared to his own parents. Seriously those 2 needs to be better. As brook yelled at them for they just went away without even thinking about the kids and if brook didn’t visit, who would have taken care of them than. so brook was 100% in the right to be mad.

When Brook said ”this is even worse than what mom did” Its from a spinoff called pokemon chronicles. Where brook mom filled the gym with water because shes a water specialist and brook had ro fight her for how the gym would look and won

Yeah Brock's parents have always been deadbeats. It's why he became a good cook in the first place. The first time Ash came to the gym Brock's parents had left to go on journeys(or his mom died according to the dub) leaving him to raise the kids.

Brock's parents are... well scum, honestly it's a miracle he turned out as well adjusted as he did (well besides the simping part). we met Brock's father like... over 400+ episodes ago, so I can't blame you for not remembering him, but yes, Brock's parents did abandon their kids before. At least the dad felt bad about it and came back but... obviously he relapsed again so.... still scummy. Also like people mentioned in the dub 4kids changed it so the mum died, because somehow that's slightly less bad to them then a mum abandoning her kids? censors are stupid, and obviously it causes a plot hole with her coming back.
