That genuinely was a really good episode, the battles were great and I like how it tied into May's character well, it actually fully acknowledged that Ash did inspire her and how she battels as a trainer. She's also been able to learn from watching his battles and think a little instead of like...spamming a million assists with her Skitty like she use to, like with how she took inspiration from Tucker from the battle frontier's combos, or using overheat to weaken that water attack, she's grown, but they at least showed she's not fully ready to win it all yet.

I like how the Magikarp Salesman is just randomly in the crowd watching Ash catch Aipom

That battle against Drew was awesome. However the only thing that ruined the immersion for me is how the yellow point bar would go down for both of them and then randomly the bar would be filled up more than it just was. Idk if they did that on purpose and didn't think the viewers would notice but it is what it is I guess
