What a weird day that I'm actually kind of happy for Vito. I do feel sorry for AJ. His upbringing is what has him in this state of limbo. His parents bailed him out of every misstep and mistake that he's never faced genuine accountability. Even with his botched assassination attempt of Uncle Junior, Tony used his connections to bail AJ out. Not only did AJ escape accountability from the law, but Tony is also supressing this from Carmella. I also felt when Tony was telling AJ that he's a "good person" he was convincing himself as much as AJ. Personally, I don't think AJ is malicious or cruel, he's just depressed and lacking an identity of his own.
