Ash always has to save his fire starters from abusive situations. First Charmander from his original trainer Damian, then Cyndaquil from that douchebag that was trying to capture him, and now Chimchar from this edgelord.

Paul is a douchebag, but at least he is an honest douchebag who releases his pokémon straight to their face and tells them. Unlike other douchebags who either lies to the pokémon or just ties them up and abandons them. Paul's only good quality.
