This is one of the best episodes so far. Chimchar learns hes safe in his new home with ash and his friends, the love chimchar for him and not what he gives, he learns his emotions are valid and the talk with Meowth was just beautiful and a great moment for both

Paul views his Pokemon expendable while Ash has an attachment to his Pokemon even the ones that stay with Professor Oak. Reminds me of when Red defeated Blue (the game version of Gary in the games) Oak says: “BLUE! Do you understand why you lost? You have forgotten to treat your POKÉMON with trust and love! Without them, you will never become a champ again!"
