I think Rodo's backstory softened me on him a little. I can sympathize with him feeling "othered" as a kid and forming that bond of friendship and loyalty to Hajrudin who didn't think less of him and in fact was in awe of his ability to map out navigational charts. Loki is taking his beating like a champ. He's helpless, bound in chains, and at the mercy of Gunko and Shamrock and his response to all of this is just giving them the middle finger. He may be a patricidal psycho, but if he's viewing the W.G. as an enemy, it's possible he could end up in that "Enemy of my enemy is my friend" territroy!

Loki seems to be very honest. He could've easily just lied saying he'd join them then do whatever he wants after they unlock his Sea Prism Stone cuffs & chains. But Loki gave them his honest answer & didn't consider changing his mind despite the beating. It kinda makes you question the "Loki is pure evil" narrative everyone on Elbaph is spreading. At least from what we've seen, I think Loki would honor his deal about destroying any single Pirate group Luffy chooses after Luffy frees him. Luffy in character probably wouldn't make a choice since that would take away from his adventure.
