Another great episode! That little pussy was SO insufferable! But now we have our Jadzia Dax back, although she has to live with that jerk's memories!

No other Jadzia will do.

This was another good episode, after the season opening 3-parter they had to scale back budget wise for an episode (especially with some of the higher budget things coming up), so scaling back to just the essential characters and a few main sets for a more personal story was the right way to go. Also seeing Doctor Bashir show a bit more confidence and stand up to the Klingons is genuinely a good moment for his character. Verad would be pitiful given his life's dream was rejected but... well every action he took during this episode basically proved that the Trill Symbiosis Committee was completely right to reject him, he's sniveling and manipulative even to the point who genuinely wanted to help him, he's so entitled to the point he thinks he's justified in killing innocent people just because he couldn't get his own way. He's weak willed and the Dax symbiont completely swallowed his personality to the point you couldn't recognize his original one. I won't go into detail because we will learn more about the Trill later, but their joining is meant to be a mutually beneficial one for the host and symbiont, but he added absolutely nothing to it, if Dax was able to reject him it probably would have. I feel more bad for Jadzia after everything, it's more then just the memories from when he was fused she has now, she'll have to live with his thoughts and feelings from his entire life up until when he was separated from Dax now being a permanent part of her symbiont.

THE GOOSH!

The casting in this show is top shelf, too. Verad, for instance, has the perfect look for that type of character. I immediately had a feel for him being kind of a wannabe from the first moments.
