You know a character is going to die when they get to kiss the girl before a battle. As soon as I saw that, I was already no-ing. Why'd it have to be Kamina though?? 😭💔

One thing to note is that we clearly see the life display for Gurren fade. Kamina is already dead. He wills himself back to life to give Simon some final, inspirational advice, and then takes revenge for his own death, before embracing Sovngarde willingly like the warrior he is. "Later, buddy" indeed.
