Leorio punching Ging is by far my favorite scene in the entire series

Asmogan

That punch was very satisfying.

Gigamac24

Hey curtis, i have some requests for you, please watch the episode 146 ending, it is the last episode with the song and animation you see at the end and i think it something beautiful to behold after watching the series, and episode 148 has a kind of wrap up as the credits roll, please watch it too.

Jojoekage

Fuck yea. Our loud friend with the big heart is back :D

Meelog Malterion

Leo is a pervert....which is why his ability lets him extend his fist to grope people from afar....or something

Anonymous

curtis, did you just ignored the fact that leorio can use nen now :D

Liesmith

Leorio became my favorite character at that moment specifically because he punched that cunt Ging in the fucking face.

Jojoekage

Ging is a way worse dad than Goku :D

Meelog Malterion

Even though it was Serious the way Leorio yelled After throwing that punch "You can go to Hell" was Hilarious....maybe it was because it reminded me of when Saitama told that guy complaining about his wrecked car to shut up by saying "you can Shut up"...except I watched this originally before OPM....

Phillip Ribbink

Despite his flashy style of dress and Medical School level IQ. Leorio still maintains a lot of the personality traits of your classic street punk. (Case in point when somebody really pisses him off, he'll haul off and punch them. He don't care if it is in front of the entire's Hunter association). For some reason I'm now imagining a spin-off series that is Dr. Leorio doing his residency at a hospital. Him dealing with the politics that usually goes on in such a place would be kind of interesting.

Ura Meshi

Turns out the price for a kiss in the cheek was heavier than expected, a pinky nail :DD

Oreocackester

Lmao I just realized that the reason you don't like pariston is because he looks like pouf

Jojoekage

Dont know if anybody told you, but Pariston Hill is an anagram for an other parasite of society 😏

Wishmaker007

at the end of the day, ging is not a bad person but definitely a asshole haha, its hard to have a binary judgement on him when he's not evil but not considerate

It's always fun for me to talk about Ging in this EP. To me Ging is a bad father but he also have a good side on the same time. If Ging were a father in common sense (to take care, to leave his dream and staying home), it would be boring and that's not Gon's dad. On the other hand Gon is not a good boy, he's very similar to Hisoka (for this argument, watching Aleczandxr's video abiut Gon's morality would be critical) and he is a boy who did thing only satisfied himself, that's why he is Ging's son. And if we look at Ging's case, what he did for Gon, is good for both. Since Gon was born, Ging left him with Mito-san because it would be impossible for Ging to be hunter and to take care Gon in the same time. How he can bring Gon with him? In a dangerous situation, if Ging bring Gon along with him, it might cost their life both. Mito-san is obviously a great and nice person, but she doesn't really have her dream or need like Ging, so when Ging decided to left Gon with Mito-san, I believed it was a right and the best choice for all people to have. Mito-san have Gon as her son, Gon have a warm-hearted person like Mito-san to take care, received sufficient love when grown up and Ging can still follow his dream. Obviously better than have Ging who don't really know how to be father as Gon's side.

What Leorio said just an over-romanticize thing, I don't think it make any senses that if Ging go to speak with Gon and it would really made Gon better. Since Ging said to that he believed Gon isn't going to died, then why he have to left his duty on his hand and going to where he can't do anything. And if Gon wake up and knew Ging was visited, Gon would feel that his most important mission was destroy while he slept, that would be worse for Gon. So even I like when Leorio punched Ging in the face, but I find that Ging is really mature and what he did wasn't bad like black-white things, and this is why I really love HxH.

THE GOOSH!

Actually, I was about to say something about it, but then I got too swept up by the excitement of him jacking up Ging!

THE GOOSH!

LOL! He kinda does... Actually, though, I just don't like his weasley, opportunistic types. I don't think it's an accident that he's the rat. :-D

Zhalterrix

I don't know what the deal with Kurapika is, but my guess is that his purpose in life no longer exists, so he's just gonna sit there brooding with the eyes of his Kurta brethren for the rest of his life. Even though he does have friends. I didn't really like that.

Zhalterrix

Ging could have easily dodged Leorio's punch there, but he felt he deserved it, so he took the hit.

His purpose is getting all the eyes back until he does that he is going to be focused on that task.

CrossZ

Remember Hisoka's personality test? Emitters are short tempered and impatient. And Leorio definitely fits that

SlickRob

Leorio is the real Best Dad.

Caffeinated King

The thing is, Ging and Gon have their own mindset about everything and I think they are honestly actually pretty similar, it's just Ging has been alive longer. Everything as far as they are concerned has to be a challenge to overcome, a journey to get through, a game to beat. Everything Ging has laid out for Gon has been training of different varieties, if Gon was alone in the world I think Ging would have done something about it, but the way he sees it is Gon has loyal and wonderful friends and at the end of the day that's more important than a father he barely remembers. Leorio was of course in the right but we also know from earlier eps that Ging is one of the top 5 nen users in the world as far as Netero was concerned, so he was willing to let Leorio have his moment. I don't think Leorio fully understands the way Gon's mind works and how he wouldn't necessarily want Ging to just come to him after all the time he has spent chasing him, it's just the way they are.

Where this falls apart is how Kite had to save Gon's ass as a kid because no one had taught Gon jack fuckity squat about survival. And also, Gon wouldn't just fuck off and abandon his friends: he barreled through all obstacles to reach Killua, and destroyed his own body to avenge Kite. Meanwhile, Ging intentionally cheats at his own game to prevent his son from finding him after completing all the training he put forth. Ging's a shittier dad that Goku.
