Those tubes are called speaking tubes, they are basically a communication device used in 19th and 20th-century buildings and navy ships before the invention of telephone. I think some U.S navy ships still use them today.

there was a little side-note in the manga that said: "Several days later, Megumi would lrean that Soma passed using only the random ingridients he had on hand. Depressing her even further"

The coucil of ten or the elite ten, depending on the translator, is one of my favorite parts of this show cause it builds so much hype with each member. They're basically the akatsuki or phantom troupe of food wars.

I lived in a dorm during my one year at University. I saw similar scenes all the time. There was always that one room everyone gathered in. (Well actually it was two rooms right across the hall from each other because our rooms were so small). Whenever there was some partying going on. I don't remember anyone ever being as pissed about as High Strung boy was though.

When you said only a hershey bar would do it for you to through you out of your clothes, Unconsciously I saw an image in my head of how you would look like in anime figure, and I have to say it was pretty much Naked Nappa.
