Akettaja The Finnish Moron

I’m sure that someone had already told you Curtis but just to be sure, I’m gonna point out that this has the same creator as HxH. Get ready for some fascinating shit!

Brother E

This is going to be fun!

Hisoka Morrow

You will definitely feel like you see Gon, Leorio, Kurapika and Killua in this series. Even the atmosphere of the story it's so similar to HxH. <3

ChubbyDuckling2

Hey Curtis Lanipator the guy from Team Four Star who voices Krillin, Vegeta, Piccolo etc. Did an abridged series of this show before his TFS days something u might wanna check out when your done with the series, also looking forward to watching this with u.

Matt Smith

This will be interesting for me to watch along with you as I am reacting to these on my own YouTube channel now. If anyone is interested my YouTube channel name is called Crohnic Gamer spelled exactly that way. Currently on yyh episode 49. Inuyasha episode 9 and fate/zero episode 2. You will really love this series curtis. As someone who watched Hunter Hunter first just like you I wasn't sure what to expect going into yyh but it is truly fantastic. It's what I came to expect from Togashi. This will be a fun ride for sure. I know it is for me.

Master Zed

im on board for this !

King Black

My favorite anime ever your really gonna enjoy this personally I like the characters better in this and I like the story better in HxH

Patrik

One of my favorite (and first) series, glad to revisit this with you!

Tony Gilbert King

I like this alot im gonna go watch it or read the manga

The music in yu yu hakusho is so good.

GoldArthur

One of the things that makes Yu Yu Hakusho so great is how relatable Yusuke is. His life is far from perfect. His dad's a no show, his mom's a drunk, his teachers disdain him, and with the exception of a few people, no one seems to understand him. As a result, he's rude, brash, lashes out, and gets himself into even more trouble. However, despite all of this, he has a good heart, and that, is what grants him a second chance at life. It's a refreshing change from the idealistic, pure-hearted main characters of other anime.

Anonymous

Yusuke has the best one liners. He’s gonna make you laugh for sure.

PKKite

Alot of people will tell you this but this is the series before HxH by the same guy. Personally i think the main characters are slightly better in this but overall story is slightly better in HxH. The other thing is id give the acting a little to ramp up. This is probably one of the best early dubs the west got but like in even later dubs the actors have to "find their voice" for the characters and that happens id say halfway or less of arc 1 for most characters. Its also the first or one of the first anime I can remember where the main character is dead episode 1. Don't worry Kuwabara IS THA MAN.

Sloopgamer

I will watch this series with you. I didn't watch yyh before. So it will be a fun ride for me too. I will watch this series in the same schedule as you! I think this will be a nice experience to do it in this way!^^ The first episode was awesome. Can't wait for the next ones!!!!

Watch it the manga has a terrible ending. It ends abruptly due to Togashi being fed up with Shonen Jump and deciding to end the manga. The anime fixes it and actually makes it satisfying

Colin

URAMESHI!!!

It's early for me, but I completely agree. Despite him being a delinquent, it's VERY easy to root for - and like - him. :-)

Lol, hey Matt. I've already been following. Had no idea you followed Curtis too.

Subaru130

Damn, the moment with Kuwabara at Yusuke's wake always gets me. Honestly, the entire wake scene is great. I was bawling my eyes out the entire time.

SlickRob

Kuwabara at Yusuke's wake always makes me tear up a bit.

I swear, my brother says that Kuwabara's voice is one of the things he hates the most about the Yu Yu Hakusho dub, but I just don't get it. He's one of the best parts in my opinion.

Anonymous

i wish you could react to sword art online, not the abridged version but the original. that'd be great.

a weak geek

I have been waiting for this series :D

Anonymous

Just a ridiculous amount of heart in this anime. I teared up a few times watching your reaction even though I've watched the series many times through. I love that you appreciated Yusuke's one liners and Boton's voice acting already. Kuwabara (remind you of knuckle?) and Keiko, they're all such great characters. Even the school principle who was just in a few short scenes feels so fleshed out and like a real person. This is something that only Togashi is capable of. I don't know if YYH will dethrone HxH for you Curtis, but I'm pretty sure it will be in the top 2 :)

Timothy Confer

Time to watch a great show about a Japanese teenager in a green outfit who tries to save someone from getting hit by a vehicle and gets told, by a pretty blue haired lady in charge of the recently deceased, that his death was over all meaningless. Now why does that sound familiar...

Anonymous

Woot. Been wanting this since I watched the first Naruto Shippudden Reaction. I can't wait for more!

RavenFighter91

I squeeled a bit when I saw this this is my 2nd fav anime

Chrome

this is so nostalgic for me, it's been years since I've seen yu yu hakusho, it's definitely a fun series to watch, shockingly enough the entire anime's dub is still view able on youtube every episode. Something I didn't know till sort of recently though is that they cut content from the beginning of the series in the anime, there's a few short adventures that happen early on that they removed for some reason or another, probably to speed up the pace. it's a weird thing that seems to happen with adaptations of Yoshihiro Togashi's series.

Richie Roberts

This is one of the few series from back in the day, where it's absolutely vital to check out the dub. Cause it's just plain better.

V_VMat

0-156? Pffft! Soma is 0-490 against his dad in cooking!

Daniel Gonzalez

Yusuke is probably one of my favorite anime protagonists he's got your quips zingers all the one liners you can take like that one about not talking because it makes you sound stupid that's a keeper and he can usually back it up but yeah I forgot how rough the 1st episode is with how his life was and the impact his death has on those around him

Phillip Ribbink

Is Blue Hair a requirement to be a guide of the recently deceased? First Aqua, Eris from Konosuba and now Botan in this. Also to make you feel even worse for his Mom Curtis. It's implied throughout the series, but never actually stated. That she's a prostitute. So yeah there's a reason she wanted him to apply himself.

It only gets more brilliant curtis! We can't wait to take the journey with you either in the next few months :)

You ask this each day, My Friend. I don't have a specific upload time. Mid-days are really busy for me, so right after lunch - whenever I can fit it in - I post the OP vid.

MarvelKnight101

Great episode! This is my first time watching YU YU too so it’s fun watching it for the first time

Daniel Salva

this brings me back to my childhood omgg

CrossZ

I forgot how strong this first episode is. It definitely hits the ground running

Jcw490

No matter how good animation become over the years, this era of art style will always hold a special place in my heart.

SilversLyfe

This is one of the most respected and universally loved anime of all time Curtis. Seriously, every time I watch one of the early 2000s toonami anime I get the strongest nostalgia and emotions. Toonami was my childhood so seeing people excited about something that was as close to me as a best friend is special. To this day yuyu hakusho is still considered one of the best and credited with being one of the pinnacle anime to responsible for bringing anime to the west.

Jake from SF

The little boy not understanding what happened after visiting the wake always gets. It's the one scene in all of anime that chokes me up no matter how many times I watch it.

Anonymous

You picked a phenomenal anime. One of my favorite and I guarantee you'll love it!

Anonymous

Yusuke Urameshi a 14 year old kid who was convinced he was going to hell episode one. Not a bad way to start a series lol

james hyde

Hey Curtis!!! So I saw on youtube that you were starting yuyu hakusho so I came right over and pledged! I think I cant wait to see this reaction. This shows first episode is god damn great. Love ya

PKKite

One thing they cut was a monster eating kids it was pretty graphic in the manga. Also Funimation also has the whole series viewable free without a account on their website.

Anonymous

I remember this show, but could never find the beginning

Daniel Lima

Man this show brings back memories

Charlie Sims

1) I'M BACK BITCHES and 2) Kuwabara is one of my favorite anime characters cause he's one of only like 2 or 3 that have ever made me cry, the other being killua in that scene with alluka whens hes like "can you forgive me for being a bad big brother" yoshihiro togashi man, god damn

August B Denys

Here is how much I love this series. I became a patron to see you react.

Ashley Smith

Why's everything i came here to watch not uploaded/gone/missing? What happened? Does anyone know if this happens often or if he knows they're gone?

Damaris Vargas

I did the same, I love this show but now it tells me I cant watch it cause is gone or something! Are you kidding me! What a slap on the face!
