Hisoka Morrow

Now you will see Yusuke as Gon/ Gin, Kuwabara as Leorio, Kurama as Kurapika and Hiei as Killua ;)

PKKite

Yeah thats a Buddhist symbol on his head the nazis took it and flipped and rotated it 90 degrees to make a swastika

Sloopgamer

Currently I'm at episode 21. Your reactions have more or less forced me to start the anime. That is for me also a great ride. Thanks to you Curtis!!!😄

I believe the swastika-like symbol on the monk guy's forehead is actually a Buddhist Manji symbol. There are two types, the Omote Manji that turns left (the opposite of the Nazi swastika) and the Ura Manji that turns in the same direction as the Nazi swastika but I believe the Nazi one is tilted, so it's still not the same symbol. Based on the website I found, the left turning Omote Manji, which was actually incorporated into the seal on Neji Hyuga's forehead in the Naruto manga but censored in the anime version, represents infinite mercy. The right turning Ura Manji that the monk here has represents intellect and strength. I'll leave the link I found here: https://noriohayakawa.wordpress.com/2016/02/10/the-difference-between-the-buddhist-swastika-symbol-and-the-nazi-swastika-symbol/

I'm not into GILFs, but Genkai is an exception.

THE GOOSH!

Yea, I didn't know what it was, but I figured they wouldn't be using Nazi symbolism... It just makes for a convenient nickname, "Nazi Boy". :-D

THE GOOSH!

I figured it must be something other than actual Nazi symbolism, but it made for a convenient and easy to remember nickname. :-D

Jorge

I literally started watching this show again because i couldn't remember for the life of me anything past the genkai arc. I got a horrible memory too, but at least curtis has an excuse

Andrew Lolavar

wait till curtis sees genkai's "true form"

SlowFlow

Gotta love them Yu Yu Voice Over Facts, Linda Young does the voices of both Genkai and DBZ's Frieza.

Genkai is one of my favorite anime characters. Her relationship with her favorite dimwit is great.

Miklar Sihn

They even had the standard punching machine that ranks peoples strength and they did it better than most by having several ranking machines.

ChubbyDuckling2

Forgot how quickly this show progresses its story at the start and Curtis calling out Genkai as a GILF already, man you're gonna be in for a treat later. :D Now that you have met Genkai I will mention her voice actress is the old school voice of Frieza from DBZ.

CrossZ

Genkai is such a hard ass, but I love her. She's such a cool old lady

MarvelKnight101

I didn’t know the guy who did this is the same as the HXH creator

Anonymous

Rando almost Rondo from NBA lol in name

Anonymous

I think that's Frieza's voice actor

Jacob Harmon

Give yourself more credit, bud; I’m sure your ballsack is plenty terrifying.

Anonymous

Now you might have know this already (due to other commentators) but Linda Young (the voice of Genkai here) is also the, now former and original English Funimation Dub voice for Freeza whom was later recast (for Dragon Ball Kai i believe) to be voiced by Chris Ayres. (the person you hear in Super is Chris Ayres by the way)

Corey Dillon

In Jainism, a swastika is the symbol for Suparshvanatha—the seventh of 24 Tirthankaras (spiritual teachers and saviours), while in Buddhism it symbolizes the auspicious footprints of the Buddha.

Corey Dillon

The Nazis twisted it to fit their agenda

Izanagi

Haha those random scuffed street fighter characters in the background. Nice little Easter egg~
