in the flash back a few episodes ago when they were kids, he used his banishing shift power on accident to takeout the evil dude but it killed a lot of other people that's why they are pissed

Basically, the big boom boom that basara did to the demon when he was a child not only obliterated the demon, but the bystanders around him

I just realized that Demon at the beginning is a total Yami rip off from Bleach. From the design, the air punches, right down to the voice and talking patterns. 🤣
