Hey, Gang...

I just watched the first episode of "Avatar". I bought the first season on Amazon Prime, but when I watched it, there are these informational bubble pop-ups throughout the series. I don't really mind them all that much, but I'm wondering if you guys think they will be a distraction?

In any event, episode 1 will cntain them, and I'm not sure where else I'd go to watch anyway.

I'm not familiar with them. Can you give an example of one? I can't imagine they wouldn't offer a way to turn them off.

Anonymous

I mean if people want to see your reaction they gonna have to deal with it

Akettaja The Finnish Moron

It would have been cool if you would have watched the Japanese dub with subtitles. Subs are so much better. (If there’s someone out there who doesn’t understand that this is joke, the following message is for that person: r/woooosh)

Tyler

Honestly I'm not sure what that is. I don't remember information bubbles from when I watched the show. That might be some kind of after series add on? Either way you don't need informational pop ups the show tells you everything you need to know

Anonymous

They should have two versions on amazon. They released that as a bonus thing years after the series came out

Denickart

Wouldn't recommend it. The extras do contain spoilers iirc

꧁Coltonius Maximus꧂

The series is also for sale on YouTube, but honestly I dont mind popups or slights distractions, it's all about if you feel distracted or bothered by them, otherwise I'm fine with them. But we'll see how everyone else feels

PKKite

Their are two versions im pretty sure on amazon or its a option and the only way to see it otherwise is use a illegal site or use the blurays / DVDs like some other reactors

Sigrid

since iv' sean all the ep i don't mind them but i did notice some people saying that thous can contain spoilers so it's up to you :|

GoldArthur

It sounds like it could be a distraction, but I guess we won't know for sure until we see it. When will the first episode be posted btw? Just curious.

Kyle

They could spoil the show

Denickart

Yeah Amazon has 2 versions, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Last Airbender (Extras) Might just have to deal with it for season 1 unless you purchased all the seasons already

Darkslifer#27

Ok i can explain the popups. They were a tv special thing that i didnt even know they had available still. The popups have various facts on the creation of the series/character information/ plot details/ etc. Its been years since ive seen them but they might have spoilers so if possible i dont recommend continuing with this version

We need more One Piece and not GayBender.

THE GOOSH!

Okay, just figured it out... You guys were right; there were two options available for purchase at Amazon. I didn't notice the (extras) designation on the one I bought. So, they got me for an EXTRA 30 bucks because I'd really rather watch without the potential for spoilers... Episode 1 did have some spoilerish stuff in it, so it's my own fault that I wasn't paying close enough attention... Episode 1 will be the only one in Standard Definition, as well as the only one with the info bubbles. :-)

THE GOOSH!

So, basically what you're saying is, you prefer one series over another, so screw the members of the community who may want to watch something else?

A.W

I think you can turn them off in the video settings maybe?

The Spaz nation was a peaceful and sexy nation, then one day the Info Bubbles attacked. King Curtis with all his sexy might defeated the Info Bubbles but at the cost of his own libido and $30. We shall forever remember his great sacrifice for the Spaz Nation.

Anonymous

Personally I dont care about the bubbles I just want to see your reaction anyways

Kyle

When will the first episode be posted?

Yuion

god I hated it when they added them...

Schmul Sjifris

If youre gonna pay 30, cant you just buy the dvds?

Souji

I've never watched them but I loved the show anyway. So they're probably not essential? It's up to you curty boy.

Jorge

Im sorry, i got nothing productive to add here, just reading the gaybender comments. 😂dude got issues.

Ryan McKeon

Nice Curtis! Plucking out the weeds! Hate when people feel the need to bring so much negativity to such a positive atmosphere! It has been forever sinceI have seen this series cant wait to watch it again along with the GOOSH!

TheMilkalator

I dont understand the hate against Avatar it is an incredibly well thought out and complex show past the superficial level

100% it's also a show that focuses on friends/family, honour, justice but also has a 'silly' comedy that would be fun to watch with Curtis. I love OP but there's always a few bad apples in every fanbase

Spookie Dookie

Avatars lit!! Ignore the negativity if there is any, like I did :) just scrolled past the hate lol it wouldn’t have won polls if it wasn’t a dope series 🤷🏾‍♂️

it does have a great story and fun characters in a way its like hunterxhunter and my hero academias had time traveled back and used fusion to become the series presented to us ofcourse i might get a little heat because the other 2 worlds have their own rich lore and style

Koala Banana

Honestly I probably will find them distracting. Prefer with no bubbles. But no big deal either way.

Ok, Curtis lets get something straight. The correct terminology for The Last Air bender is not "Anime". Anime is the terminology for Japanese Cartoons which would require the said cartoon to come from Japan. The Last Air bender however does not come from Japan as its an american product (though i hear alot of its animation comes from South Korea). While the terminology ultimately doesn't matter i think it should be important to keep Curtis well informed and not give him false information to go on. So just to conclude i'll be alright if Curtis calls it an anime so long as he knows for a fact it wasn't made in Japan.

Yeah im more of a purist (filthy mushrooms!) and tend to define anime the same way mainly if it's produced in Japan or by a Japanese studio and also because there are some good American made animated series out there and they should be recognized as such like the Batman and Superman animated series

Well in some cases those bubbles can contain spoilers. But it looks like he resolved the issue now.

I would need to see one to understand if they are needed. I have seen alot of avatar air bender & earth & water, I may have missed bits of the fire part, so a bit of a recap would be interesting to me

I am still learning Japanese so I don't mind if this means it will not be English voices as long as there are sub titles
