Yup, this definitely looks like a fun series! I already like Aang, and I already wish to own a flying bison!... Also, I have things squared away now, so this will be the only episode in Standard Definition and with those text bubbles.

I WATCH AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER AT AMAZON PRIME: amazon.com/The-Boy-in-the-Iceberg/dp/B000GFD4C0/

Brother E

This is going to be an awesome adventure. Reacting to Avatar goes to show we can have any genre of entertainment on The Goosh.

This show has a great mix of comedy and action, among other things. You’re in for a good time Curtis.

Chrome

just going to state out right, this was my childhood lol, Avatar is a great series no matter what others say, you'll probably grow to like Sokka, Iroh and someone else who you won't meet till season 2

CrossZ

This is so nostalgic for me, this show really was one of the best things I watched as a kid

AceOfSerberit

Man! I'm just heading to bed (01:38 at the moment), so I jsut can't watch this right now. Well I have something to really look forward to for breakfast

Thomas Stark

Seriously Curtis You're out of CONTROL! Way Too Much Good Content!!! (Shakes Fist at the sky) I love how petty my complaints are! And apparently exclamation points !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris

Seems good so far, I just hope you can avoid those obnoxious text bubbles.

Schmul Sjifris

Those bubbles were painful... Distracting from the show itself with random trivia and personal interpretations of things is bad enough, but there were actually spoilers in those! "This foreshadows the time when character x will kill character y in episode 87 hahhha!"... Yeah, not the best thing. Things that wont be revealed in the show is one thing, but a lot of those were just things that will be reveaked or happen, LATER. Is this actually what Amazon prime has as their only option for watching Avatar? Cause that would be a problem Happy they didnt spoil anything major though^^

No their are two versions on amazon. This version was aired on tv and thus is SD. The other version is the better looking one without bubbles.

V_VMat

Those bubbles remind me of DBZA Canadian subtitles 😂 (added commentary etc.)

Chris Peacock

Love this show. VERY glad the bubbles won't be returning.

Straight White Male

Avatar is very much inspired by different Asian cultures. Sokka and Katara's tribe is sort of based off of the Inuit-like cultures throughout the Arctic. Also, their style of bending of elements is based off of real world martial arts forms. You'll also notice everything is in poorly written Chinese.

Straight White Male

Zuko's Uncle's voice actor is the legendary Mako. He died during the production of this series.

Anonymous

Despite the danger of the bubbles... i sorta like them.

Straight White Male

Aang is an Air Nomad, and they're based off of Buddhism partially. Some Buddhist sects, not all, are vegetarian. That's probably why they made him a vegetarian.

Anonymous

When the bubbles are better than the show itself... sorry, Curtis, but this one's not for me. I'll keep up with Yu Yu and One Piece for now.

Anonymous

Thank god you figured out those bubbles, they are absolutely heinous.

Tony Gilbert King

A few minutes in and those bubbles are agonizing thank goosh they're not coming back

Anonymous

Ya I'd say for a first time viewer, watch with no info bubbles.

Jake from SF

This is definitely a great show. A co-worker of mine got me into it a couple years ago. The seasons on the DVD releases are called books so he lend me book 1 and after watching it, I returned it to him and ordered books 1-3 on Amazon. I wonder how odd it would be for a kid to see a man in his mid 20's and another man in his mid 30's get all nerdy over a nickelodeon cartoon.

Souji

yee boy this show is so cool. and it's a good example of MANY western made shows that were influenced HEAVILY by anime. The director had the animation crew watch episodes of FLCL before working on this to capture the animation style.

The first episode is a little weak because it was written as 2-part pilot, and the second part is the better one. If you haven't seen it, I'd recommend sticking with it a little longer. It only gets better as it goes.

George

The bubbles are kinda distracting but cool for someone who already watched it to learn more about it

Gigamac24

Yeah unfortunately you got the extras version, which comes with the funny, but annoying and revealingly commentary. I would prefer if you could not have that, but its your reaction so do what you want.

Gigamac24
>>21908924

Nvm just saw they’re going away, thx for spending the extra money for the goosh! We all appreciate it.

Matthew Zeller

I don't understand who the intended audience is for the version with bubbles. It's spoilers for people who haven't seen it and just redundant information and bad jokes for people who have. Thanks for the dedication Curtis! You always go the extra mile.

GoldArthur

Glad the bubbles are going away. Clearly only for people that have already watched the show.

Anonymous

I'm still hoping for Bleach this year

Anonymous

Those informative bubbles were not on the version I watched so, I don't think they are original. They are more annoying than beneficial. Anyway good reaction, I think you will enjoy this series

Anonymous
>>21909626

I have watched it, still don't want them. Most of them are useless information I already know or bad jokes.

Yuion
>>21911289

he is watching the version without starting next episode Unfortunately he bought the wrong version xD

Yuion

Avatar is, for a western story, very mature and philosophical. Especially S2 and S3 are stellar in characterization, world building story telling. Some of my favourite characters of all time in all media come from avatar so I hope you will enjoy it

Darkslifer#27
>>21902433

Those characters are the 3 in competition for his favorite from the series imo. He might also like bumi i love that he is finally watching something i actually grew up with and not something i saw as a teen/adult

MarvelKnight101

This technically isn’t even anime. But I’ve never seen it before so I’ll give it a chance. Also are we watching legend of Korra (sequel to avatar) after this or are we going straight to JOJO

Anonymous
>>21912445

This whole it isn't an anime thing is really only semantics. And the polls were series, not limited to just anime. There's no rule in this Patreon that it's anime exclusive.

Miklar Sihn
>>21909473

Its bad jokes for the people rewatching the show who love bad jokes. I got a few chuckles in, but he clearly needs to watch the non-bubbly version

LordNoLife

ah man this takes me back, I first watched this when I was around 4th grade maybe 5th, I loved then and I'm sure I'll love it now. I can't wait to watch this with you Curtis my man

Souji

also god those bubbles were painful really puts you off

TheMilkalator

jumped from the $1 to $5 just for this series

Koala Banana

Is it too soon to say I can't wait for season 3? :)

Koala Banana

I'm 99% sure those bubbles were written by a woman. That's why they're not funny and they don't want men to look at women.

Anonymous

So how often are we getting these reactions?

WhateverIFeelLike

Never seen a directors cut like that before. Great if you've seen the series, but annoying if you're watching for the first time

grant pflum

No, the bubbles are not in the orginal

Christian Brucken

After you finish Avatar and at some point you can try its sequel series Legend of Korra that continues its story if you like the series

Scryehard

My God, those bubbles really takes you out of the immersion, doesn't it? What kind of moron decided to add those?

Altariel

I completely forgot that you were going to watch this and now I'm twice as happy to see these videos! 😃 One of my favourite animated show ever.

Sean Nelson

Never watched this growing up but I'm looking forward to this journey. Funny the two finalists are the meme shows. The fire nation invaded meme won over the entirety of jojo being a meme lol

Anonymous

BUT EVERYTHING CHANGED WHEN THE FIRE NATION ATTACKED

Anonymous

The show: "That's a lot of candles!" Curtis: "HEY! I MAKE THE JOKES BITCH"

Enzo Grano

I dont know if its just on my end, but this episode isnt available.

Anonymous

No the videos are gone! T.T

Sirkylelenn

Same for me, it says the video does not exist.

Ashley Smith

NO it says the video does not exist!! Why? What happened?

Anonymous

Why does this series not work? Have they been reuploaded?
