Since i watched yu yu after HXH, this next arc (chapter black) is my favorite because in a way it kinda gave me the HXH feel and i love it ! :)

I always liked how Sakyo's final act was giving Shizuru his lighter. It just goes to show how no matter how much of an irredeemable bastard you are, and he was, there's always going to be at least 1 shred of humanity in there.

One more episode of this arc to go for some closure then on to the next arc, can't wait it's one of my favorites and I would say it's the most interesting arc of the series.

I feel like the whole thing with Shizuru pining after Sakyo really devalues her as a character. I guess he saved her life once and is apparently an attractive guy. But she overheard his backstory about how he loves to dissect animals for fun and is a total sociopath. In every other instance Shizuru is the voice of calm and reason but for her to get so choked up and actually cry over a person like Sakyo is super disappointing.

If you love HunterXHunter, the next arc should be up your ally. A new power similar to nen, proto Chrollo and the troupe, moral quandaries, and lots of psychologically damaged characters. Best way to describe it is a rough draft of Yorknew with a bit of the Chimera Ant arc.

I don't believe toguro was ever looking for redemption, it's more like suicide by cop. Provoking the situation and escalating the danger until the police have to use excessive force. Infact, Yuske is basically a cop, spirit gun and all.

Most people say Dark Tournament is their favorite, but the remainder is my favorite. Much more suspense and drama than steroid guy and shoulder monkey.

Hate them all you want, but Sakyo and Torguro were honest in their intentions and stick to their guns unlike The Black Black Committee, who were slimeballs.
