The "Avatar Follies" was a truly awesome production!... In all seriousness, though, it was a really enjoyable method for structuring a "catch up" episode!

I WATCH AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER AT AMAZON PRIME: amazon.com/The-Boy-in-the-Iceberg/dp/B000GFD4C0/

Well now that we are here, let me enlighten you, you see the Male actor who played Toph, well listen to this( taken from the Avatar wiki) Toph was initially designed as a jock-type, bad-mouthing, muscular, sixteen-year-old boy who would act as a foil to Sokka's nerdiness, as revealed by the co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko during an interview with Toon Zone. This idea made its way into the unaired pilot episode's opening sequence and as the shadowed earthbender (which was confirmed by the creators to be Toph's "prototype") in the opening sequence. Later on when time came closer to the character's debut, the creators pitched about the humor behind a little girl being able to take on all the strong, buff earthbenders, an idea introduced by head writer Aaron Ehasz that was initially rejected by co-creator Konietzko. From this idea which blossomed as a joke and after long discussions, Toph was given her gender and turned into the character that was introduced in the show, ironically becoming one of Bryan's favorite characters. The original idea/design was later recycled as the ideas for The Boulder and Sud. A joke about the prototype later appeared as the actor playing Toph in The Boy in the Iceberg play bore a closer resemblance to the initial design

hands down the best recap episode of any series

Koala Banana

hardcore4belgium

Are you planning on watching Legend of Korra after you finish Avatar? A lot of people give it unjustified hate but I personally love it and hope you watch it afterwards.

"[...] and a surprisingly knowledgable merchant of cabbage" 2:14 the legend lives on

The merchent is the eternal mainstay of the whole series.

4 part finale incoming.

Tyler

The single greatest recap episode of all time. Everything is just hilarious. Now hold onto your butt, because the next four episodes are a fucking ride and a half! Regardless of whether you only release one a day, I do strongly recommend you either watch all of the next four in one go, or at the very least the final two. The finale is designed more like a movie in a way.

Is Curtis going to watch "Legend of Korra" after ??

Tyler

Maybe someday if we vote it in. But next up is Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

Please watch Legend of Korra after!!!

Miasimon

Really hope Curtis binged the whole finale. I don't mind if it's split up over a few days for us, but he should watch it together for his own enjoyment.

4 episodes left I remember when they came out back in like 09. They all came out on the same night as like one big finale

GoldArthur

The next 4 episodes are 4 parts of the same finale. You NEED to watch them all together. Also, it'd be really cool if we could get them all together, but, it's more important that you watch them all together.

No! It's an absolute disaster to the first one. It tarnishes the TLA's legacy.

THE GOOSH!

I've already begun watching them. I prefer in pieces because I enjoy the discussion of each phase, both during the reaction vids and also here in the comments section.

vassardog

The best part about this catch up episode is that, with the added future part, you dont need to watch the series finale either, because it already tells you how it ends!

When spaz boy finishes Avatar he should watch fate/zero one of the most fucked anime with super powers out there

Ben Wilder

When you get a chance you should check out the Avatar: The LAst Airbender comics
