It was REALLY difficult watching Luffy and Zoro take that beating! I'm hoping their paths are gonna cross with Bellamy again, much the same way Shanks ended up crossing paths with his antagonist!

I always found this scene incredibly stupid. It was a completely different situation than with shanks in the bar, all he did was spill some booze and that's it. There was no point in taking action. In this situation, however things are completely different. Zoro and luffy are getting beat up to a degree that it's painful to watch, while nami (friend of luffy) is being laughed at and ridiculed right in front of luffys eyes. Shanks would never let that happen. Not to a friend.

The scene between with the cherry pie guy & Luffy is one of my favorite scenes in the ENTIRE series. It’s a really powerful speech about just chasing your dream no matter what others tell you & not sure if you notice but the show sets up a unique parallel between Luffy & the cherry pie guy. Like I said before foreshadowing.

Normally, I only stay an episode or so ahead. I was just way ahead earlier because I had planned on being away. I used up all those extras right after the Vimeo incident, as I was working on our next move. :-)

But keep in mind Shanks gave up his arm when he didn't have to. He could have saved Luffy from the Sea King and kept his arm. The point is that Luffy doesn't want to fight someone just because they laughed at him. Luffy can easily handle those fools on his own but makes a point to not bother since it gets him nothing, not even satisfaction. Bellamy wasn't trying to kill them, just ridicule. Luffy fights for survival. If they went after Nami then that's another story.

Hey Curtis, in case you didn’t catch it, Bellamy’s epithet is “The Hyena”. Suits him perfectly since he basically looks incredibly similar in facial features to the hyenas in the Lion King

I interpret this as less luffy thinks they're not worth it like shanks and more pity that Bellamy's that jaded

I don't know if you noticed but Chopper jumped ship when Nami was yelling at Robin in order to get away and since he can't swim Zoro jumped after him
