Consider that Ryuk has nothing but boredom to look forward to when it's all over. As long as anything is happening, its got to at least be more interesting to hang out with Light.

Good point... I sometimes forget how dismal and boring their world is. Any type of entertainment has gotta be better than that. :-)

Damn he really considered killing his own sister, really shows how power can corrupt someone

What's worse is that his reasoning for not going ahead with it was that it could lead to him being caught

Nolan Hewitt

Yeah.....the death penalty is too good for light

Jared Taylor

I don't know if it will work on viz.com, but on Netflix if you turn the subtitles on, it will translate the Japanese writing.

I wonder if curtis should watch the "deathly god parents" parody of death note opening

I don't know why but this eps made me think, Why don't any of them get a realistic mask

I remember in the old days when Death Note was first coming out. There were a lot of fangirls with the hots for Light (and quite a few for L as well) mostly because of those pretty boy looks of his. Wonder how many of those fangirls realized how much of a dickbag he was when they saw how he treated Misa in this episode?

Miasimon

Seeing this episode again, I'm just now starting to wonder... How can Light or Misa see Ryuk? That wasn't Ryuk's notebook, so how would it let them see him? Ryuk just yoinked that butterface's notebook and cartwheeled his way to the human world.

I would imagine that the same could be said of every notebook that falls into the human world because the shinigami that drops it keeps their own notebook. Based on that, I'll go ahead and guess that the shinigami that drops the notebook for a human gains a special 'right' to be seen which, which is shared here by the real owner of the death note?
