I'd heard about the opening episode of this series, and what I'd heard was true! Damn, that was dark, twisted and awesome!  :-D

Diego

the only good goblin is a dead one

Brother E

Oh shit....Here we go again.

Akettaja The Finnish Moron

Unfortunately this first episode is just bait and the rest of the season is very boring compared to it. It’s meant to get you interested and be controversial so it gets attention.

J Johnson

The first episode has the most shock value, it's not as intense for the rest of the series, although I heard that they toned things down quite a bit compared to the manga. The whole season reminds me a lot of a D&D campaign I ran with my friends when I was in college.

꧁Coltonius Maximus꧂

Yeah, episode one is a little intense, and is the main reason I refrain from showing this to others.

I'd heavily disagree on the rest of the series being boring as plenty of other fucked up and exciting things happen as the show goes on. But to each their own

LMAO, now that you mentioned D&D I remembered how in one campaign where me and 4 friends started and on the first day almost got party wipe 😂 (if not for temporary NPC party member that would have happened)

I started watching this because of the controversy I heard about first episode 😂 and I was like 'OK' (insert One Punch Man meme here) when I saw it.

LireKlein

"this has such a konosuba feel to it" oh boy, here we go again ...

Tony Gilbert King

My reaction was almost the same as curtis only with more vocal hes gonna die about sword moron and a little i hope im not wrong about him dying strangely i had no thoughts about any of the girls dying

V_VMat

It's weird to hear this in English. I watched it sub myself and this dub sounds a bit "abridged" (?)... Dunno why though.

Miklar Sihn

I'd suggest you keep going. This basically shows the setting and the problem that our main character is focused on. It does change up its formula somewhat though.

John Johnson

Oh My God, Yes! This is going to be good!

mfasi

Yeah I forgot how traumatizing the 1st episode is hory shiet. I definitely blocked out the goblin gangbang from my memory tho lol😂

Agreed. All the voices except Goblin Slayer sounded off to me, especially the longsword guy and the blonde girl.

TnT_FoX

Haha I knew you'd like it :D it really takes I'd say 4 episodes to get fully hooked on the story and lore. This is just like a trailer for a movie showing nothin but action. There isn't even an opening theme until episode 2, it's sort of a prequel like the first FMA brotherhood episode. I had the same reaction, like I tell people 'well I didn't feel bad for the characters but I loved the fighting' and they think I'm a sociopath... they're brand new cartoons, not real people. Come towards the middle of the season I was worried cause aside from the Main Character... this show isn't afraid to kill people off. So same time next year for episode 2? :D

Ashley King

Ahh another good series to start! But with this, I'm curious if you'd consider reacting to some of the Goblin Slayer Abridged episodes as they come, especially the ones by Grimmjack (someone who works on the Seven Deadly Smucks). It's about as intense and even crazier, plus there's plenty of l-o-l moments

Garlic

Hes not saying it right its "Gob-u-lins"

Phillip Ribbink

And thus my hatred of Goblins was born. I will never look at the ugly little bastards the same again.

Jyiber

I'd like to bring your attention to one grizzly detail left out of the anime, and that is that all goblins are male and born in litters. Where from you ask? Why do they collect women, again?

Jyiber

There is suspicion that Mr. Goblin Slayer is likely: Autism the Superhero. The reason we suspect this is because of his single minded focus on Goblins, and also his savant like genius thinking (more on that if you ever start this).

the Abridged episodes are hilarious, but he needs to watch season 1 first to get the full effect. :P They tore off your clothes... and nothing else... lol youtube censorship <3

TnT_FoX
>>28494147

yeah, I love the sub, but I didnt specify sub over dub cause I watched it dubbed first myself, still a great anime. He will hear the sub when season 2 comes out in March ;)

TnT_FoX
>>28497229

Naw, when he was a kid he was completely normal, didn't show any signs of Autism. He lost his only family to Goblins and is on a Punisher Revenge run against an entire race. I mean, it's basically an 'any revenge movie from the 90's' story. Or well it's still a popular story... Goblin Slayer's Sister was 'Taken' from him and he has a particular set of skills for killing Goblins.

TnT_FoX

Lets all Agree, When Curtis watches Episode 2, He has to watch the opening :D I understand skipping it for time, but should react to his first impression of a new opening. Even if it's a separate video to avoid copyright taking down the whole reaction. As for as Sub vs Dub... a lot of people are saying Sub, and I kinda agree since the translation is more accurate, but I watched Dubbed my first time so I cant judge. Whether I sponsor the rest of Season 1 or it's put in the mix because it obviously looks popular to us insane Gooshers... In a Poll if more episodes are coming up, it should be clear if you want sub or dub in your vote. That being said... if I sponsor more videos, it will probably be me in Videos doing stupid stuff, I got a whole video of me and two friends from Youtube eating bugs from Ants to June bugs to 3 inch giant water scorpions. Also... many videos of me almost lighting my face on fire... So I dont think I'll sponsor more of season 1 and just leave it up to Gooshers to bug Curtis if they want more. I do plan on Sponsoring Season 2 episode 1 next Halloween if Curtis hasn't seen it by then, it comes out in March 2020 so the last episode will be like late may/early June. I play the scratch off lottery 100 bucks a month... but I normally end up breaking even or +- 40 bucks. If I win the grand prize of 100k a year for life... well then I'll be able to sponsor 2 videos a month xD or a full season now and then <3 since thats like 1200 a week after taxes, so I'd be able to drop my current income and still have 4x what I do now. Isnt the lottery great :D (if you win)

Irimu

Dub... Goblin slayer is way to intense in this. Hes supposed to be deadpan.

Irimu

Blaming the goblins is like blaming any other parasitic life form. Just because they happen to hurt you by living doesn't make them evil.

TnT_FoX
>>28521853

Well if they kill and torture your species they're evil in your eyes. So... a creature that's only purpose is to kill, eat, rape, and torture members of a species... is evil, according to those species
