Berserk manages to showcase really disturbing and cruel stuff, in a very realistic way how society was before compared to now

For some reason that scene with Griffith in the river always brings a tear to my eye more than anything else in the series

To me, the bath scene shows that griffith is a hypocrite... In the most positive way. He is lying to himself in order to believe that he doesnt care about the lives or the deaths of his soldiers. He clearly does and it kills him. This is a simplification ofc, he clearly knew he cared somewhat, but he is lying about how much he cares.

I feel the same way, some scenes hit me hard, especially the Bonefire of Dreams scene with Guts on the hill

You have to really stand in awe of what Griffith did. Someone so headstrong and driven found it easier to whore himself to a rich man for a night than continue on what he has been doing, fighting battle after battle allowing his men to die for him.
