Sometimes an episode of an anime is so well done and hard hitting, it honestly defies adequate description. THIS is one of those times!

possibly one of the best episodes of one piece. I have been waiting for you to watch this for so long. I WANT TO LIVE!!!!

Wesley

One of the best episodes for sure.

Jake from SF

I love the visual at 20:05 in your video where Robin is surrounded by black or darkness and then that darkness gets overtaken by the light and the ones that are taking her out of the darkness and into the light are the strawhats. Such a strong visual moment there. 279-283 after the filler episodes end they added 2-3 minute comedy skits chibi style. And they are hilarious. So, you could end up watching all 5 of them in 10 minutes. If you did decide to ever watch them you'd just have to skip to the last couple minutes of the episode.

This episode is a masterpiece. I love it, makes me tear up everytime

Gigamac24

Hell yeah I love this episode, I just wish Usopp was there

GoldArthur

Top 10 episode at best, despite how good it is. Just goes to show you how good the series is. Also, this also shows you why Kuzan took such a vested interest in capturing Robin despite his otherwise friendliness with the Stawhats. He felt personally responsible for letting Robin escape. Kuzan and Saul were actually pretty close before Saul defected. Kuzan saved Robin out of respect for Saul more than anything.

Been waiting so long for you to finally see this episode.

This episode was a perfect christmas present

Merry Xmas to us all

I would personally say this is the most iconic one piece episode, the conclusion to probably I'd say my 3rd favorite backstory in One Piece, the other 2 you have yet to see, so that's something to look forward to, as well as them straight up picking a fight with the government, they went from "Oh, those are pirates, we should probably catch them." to "It's those guys, do whatever it takes, send it whoever it takes to catch those guys." status. Anyway, merry Christmas, I hope you and your family have a nice holiday.

This episode is amazing for Robin’a character and story, but I also really love it all for Luffy. His attitude and actions in times like these are why he’s one of my all time favorite characters and protagonists.

Another really cool thing that goes un-noticed most of the time this episode is when Zoro pulls his sword out and puts it back in, it's actually a samurai vow so he is pretty much promising to kick their ass and get Robin back.

ChaosKing

This is one of my all time favorite episodes from one piece, when robin finally said “I want to live” just makes me tear up every time.

I always cry like a baby to this episode and all of Robins backstory, great fucking storytelling. Whats amazing is that i don´t think this is the saddest backstory of One Piece even...

THE GOOSH!

That's cool! It seemed there was significance to that, but I didn't know what it was. :-)

SilversLyfe

I always forget how emotional this backstory gets for me. I’m not sure there’s another time in one piece where I tear up for a straight 3-4 episodes. The top 25 greatest moments in one piece is extremely difficult to rate because they’re all so good, but I don’t think anyone could leave this out of their top 10. It’s in my top 5

Miasimon

If there was such a thing as a person having doubts about One Piece's writing, these past few episodes would have cleared those doubts. I don't think there was ever a show or movie that made me tear up EVERY time I saw a particular part. Usually I get used to it and it doesn't hit as hard the 4th or 5th time... Watched this flashback over 10 times and it still hit like a truck full of concrete.

It's amazing that Nico Robin turned out so well considering... I think I would have gone completely mad killing any marine I'd see.

Jojoekage

I cried manly tears. Just like Franky😭

Jojoekage

I love this story. The only backstory that was even more devastatingly written was somebody with the name Water D. ...

Jojoekage

I feel the same. Just like with Meruem:"Komugi, are you still there ?"

Tyler

Wow, this one brought me to actual tears twice.
