I'm unclear as to what exactly this little hottie granted to Lelouch, but it certainly seems plenty badass!

Akettaja The Finnish Moron

Oh man I’m so exited about getting to re-experience this show! It’s gonna be a doozie.

Anonymous

This is gonna be good!

Miklar Sihn

There are many questions. Most will be answered in time. But yeah, it is a pretty fantastic first episode, especially since they really dont waste a single scene.

CrossZ

You'll notice Britannia is based out of North America. They don't explain this in the show, but in this series history, the American Revolution failed, and then later when Great Britain was attacked, the nobles fled to the colonies there. So that's why what we know as the US and Canada are referred to as Britannia, that's basically the center of the Empire

Anime Wulf

Oh hell yeah! This series came out of the blue, this is the only 1 series I consider to be above death note as my favorite anime of all time.

Mikestrike

Oh fuck it's here! My favorite story of all time, I'm so excited to watch this again with you!

V_VMat

Again tried to open the picture. This show really started at full speed! And remember kids, when you are hiding turn off your cellphones!

Reverend357

oh boy...here we go again...

Chrome

oh jesus I forgot how many familiar voices are in this show, Ichigo's VA and Alucard's VA stood right out as recognizable

PKKite

A easy way I try to define this series for new watcher. Think death note but more mechs and fanservice and less book power but more eye power.

PKKite

Yes we dont know her wish Lelouch agreed to and IIRC he doesnt either its basically a blind contract get power and live but not know all the terms of it or die with no power.

Tyler

I think Lelouch is the kind of protagonist you're going to enjoy quite a lot. As you can see, he's more from the Wolfwood school of thought than the Vash school of though. This is a series with a lot of moving cogs and pieces. But everything will come together before the end into one glorious whole. But more importantly, plenty of top tier waifus as well. This will probably be my fifth time watching this series and it's just as exciting as always.

They control the entire Americas, both north and south. Along with some islands including Japan at the start of the series. You can see it in the world map they show at the start.

I'm pretty bad at picking favorites, but I'd say this one at the very least has one of my top three favorite endings of all time.

A semi-supernatural political thriller with mecha elements is generally the genre I describe it as.

Code Geass has an all-star cast. Johnny Yong Bosch, Yuri Lowenthal, Chris Sabot, Steve Blum, Kate Higgins, Karen Strassman... The list goes on but it's just chock full of voice talent.

Death To Britannia

Irimu

A suprise, to be sure, but a welcome one

THE GOOSH!

Yea, I'm definitely getting the vibe that a little death-dealing might be acceptable to Lelouch. :-D

RyssaVionus

Personally, I'm glad you went with the dub... Just because that's how I first watched it. That's really the extent of my sub vs dub preferences. I do have to wonder though... Do you remember reacting to Code Ment all those years ago? Your line about how you'd remember Kallen if you'd seen her before just made me laugh. ^^

nova

I think you'll find that Lelouch is a lot like Light from Death Note... except not a massive dickhead. You'll probably sympathize a lot with the decisions he needs to make. I don't remember most of this series --- but I know it never drops pace. I can't wait to experience it again with everyone!

Jeremiah

For unbiased reasons Jeremiah is my favorite character! lol

Joe Banks, 82 years young

It will be interesting to see how much (if anything) you remember from watching CodeMENT back in the day. not that CodeMENT really followed the plot at all.

as others said he made an open ended contract. she never said what it is. this show for all its fun moments sometimes usually has a few dozen threads of story twisting around in the background that slowly comes together sometimes only a little later sometimes much much later. Two direct comments in particular in this episode which I wont state have implications as far out as the shows finale lol

my favorite anime :D

Chainsaw Man

One of the best animes ever and possibly best first episode! This show is up there with one piece and HxH

WOW first time watching this show after like 12+ years of dodging it! Heavily regretting it now but atleast i get to watch it with all of you

Lelouch Vr Light now that would be a top 10 anime battle right there.

Harold Haddick

Me: Well, I guess I should check my email before I go to bed... Sees Curtis had Code Geass episode 5 Me: Sleep can wait, when the hell did he start Code Geass!?

Miasimon

Was so caught up in watching the One Piece and Bleach reactions that I didn't notice this little gem getting started! This is gonna be one hell of a ride! Also, not sure if you have subtitles on but a funny thing about those mechs is that they're spelled "Knightmares" and not "Nightmares", feeding into the whole royalty theme (I honestly thought they were "Nightmares" for the longest time until I saw it written down).

Izanagi

I've been out of the loop for awhile, Had no idea you even started on Code Geass haha xD Welp, time to catch up! Regardless. I hope you are having fun watching it! it's most certainly up there in my top ten anime series :D
