Luffy bashing face on that Celestial Dragon REALLY ramps things up, but it was SO satisfying to watch!

What I've always really liked about this scene, is the change up in the art style and the very apparent anger in luffy face.

Jojoekage

Kid wanted to see how much of a crazy bastard Luffy is 😏. He punched that motherfucker back into Manga.

Johnny Kiehn

YESSS I've waited for this punch for so long! I love how Luffy hit him so hard he literally knocked him into another dimension... that manga-style animation never fails to get me hyped up!!

Gigamac24

The screen turning white and black symbolises the cum shooting out of my penis from how nutworthy this scene is

Johnny Kiehn

This is objectively the most satisfying punch in all of anime.

Jojoekage

"The dripping of his nose, really makes me want his face smashed" 😏 ask and you shall receive.

And on this day...the super novas knew they were fucked

astherphoenixxx96

If you look at how our 8 limbs friend is being treated here, it might help you understand why fishmen like arlong exist

interested party

so arlong or the dragons? who do you hate more?

Schmul Sjifris

Grandpa Garp isnt an Admiral so they wouldnt send him, it'd be Aokiji, Akainu or Kizaru

V_VMat

Luffy literally punches the color out of the scene! Also, the Straw Hats already declared war against World Government during Enies Lobby, so what a "minor" incident like this is going to do against them?

V_VMat
>>35063058

Also the way Luffy dodged the bullet even when he doesn't need to. 😂

Mighty Snake

Curtis it's ok to get off to this scene, everyone gets off to this scene

GoldArthur

The punch heard round the world, and it was SO worth it.

J.t. Fowlkes

You have a better understanding why the Fishman hated humans and as a child I'm sure Arlong wanted to go to Sabaody Park which a reference why he called his park Arlong Park in the East Blue and how much people hate Fishman and discriminate against them and trust and believe the Celesta Dragons are worst then Arlong will ever be the more the series progress

Yep. It doesn’t mean someone like Arlong can be forgiven for what he did, but it adds context and nuance to the character which Oda is amazing at doing. “Oh remember that character from 350 episodes ago who you thought was total scum and pure evil. Well, here’s some depth for him!” Like what the f lol

Jcw490
>>35062883

I mean on a power scale he’s right so it’s close enough. The fact he remembers aokiji’s name at this point is enough of a win lol

Jcw490
>>35063945

A wee bit spoilery here chief but your point is valid. Let’s just let this stuff settle in here and then discuss it more when we get to fishman island. It’s the next island, it’s literally right around the corner so we should be there soon

LordNoLife

punched him so damn hard he sent him right back to the manga

Mighty Snake

The OST that plays as Luffy is going to punch him is also one of my favorites, once that starts playing you know shit is about to ramp up.

flameenforcer619

Grandpa aint an admiral. He's a vice admiral. Aokiji actually has seniority over him funnily enough.

Miasimon

Luffy channeling his inner Saitama with that punch. I really hope you didn't think the Celestial Dragons were strong. Most of them are at about his level in power but at least quadruple his arrogance and punchability (I mean just look how satisfying THAT punch was. Imagine if he got clutched or if Luffy just kept going.). Just watch out for lawn ornaments.

Cetacean Needed

Holy shit I've always loved that punch. There's just something about that musical sting as Luffy turns to face him, then striding straight for him without saying a single word, dodging bullets he didn't even have to, all while readying Ol' Reliable for that epic fucking punch. Everything about it says "yeah, it might not be the smartest move, but I've just gotta punch this skidmark into another dimension." And it couldn't have happened to a more deserving douchebag. The Celestial Dragons in general could use a good old fashioned ass beating, but this guy in particular made one of the absolute worst moves he could've made. He fucked with Luffy's nakama. Might as well have drawn a huge target on his forehead.

Kyle

The punch was so epic and strong the anime reverted back to manga

Ranger

“The best mistake Luffy ever made”

Moe

I had to rewatch that scene like 10 times to see you reaction. Every time i tried i kept looking at dudes face getting destroyed. It's just so satisfying.

Avery

What I love most about this scene is when the celestial dragon went "what's with that look on your face?!" which was the first time we saw Charlos with a concerned/mad face. It's like just by seeing how Luffy was looking at him, he suddenly knew that Luffy was a special kind of enemy.

Chainsaw Man

That punch was better than an orgasm tbh 🤣

V_VMat
>>35067349

Actually Aokiji has Rank over Garp. Garp has been marine like 40+years, while Aokiji is marine of 20-something years...

Jojoekage
>>35088742

Since he's a celestial dragon, we can assume that nobody has ever looked at him that way.

I feel like at the end of one piece Oda is going to have the ceslitail Dragon system fall of a cliff. Luffy becoming King of the Pirates will set off a huge chain of events and that will be fun to see unfold when it does.

DevilJynx

The most satisfying punch in all of Anime Edit: When I first watched this episode I had half a mind to suggest "Man they should let Arlong have at these mooks."

Cains

"They've been in big trouble before", get ready to see a whole new level of big trouble lmao.
