It was fun enjoying the mad pussy cat dash amidst the serious nature of the Britannians vs. the "Eleven".  :-)

It isnt just fun, it is also important. This story has been as much about ideals, personalities and relationships as it is about politics and battles. That has been shown from the start, this small interlude tells us about the personalities of a lot of the involved characters.

Britania are assholes, but they have a kick-ass anthem.

Miklar Sihn

For many of us, the greatest challenge is pussy.

Miklar Sihn

Kallen and Shirleys inability to focus on the pussy is how you know they are straight.

Never really hit me until just now but the emperor took the stage at his son's funeral and practically said he died because he was weak

Miklar Sihn

It is worth mentioning that while the emperor is an asshole, he isnt exactly wrong in that speech. People are not equal, for a number of reasons. So treating people the same doesnt make sense. Now personally i would go somewhere else with that idea than he does, but i think he hit the problem right on the head.

Sean Nelson

this is a common storytelling method the show uses often. it likes to mix in more light hearted episodes between major events. calms in the eye of the storm. it let's it character build and give some humor to a show that's often very dark. they do a good job of putting in just enough bigger picture moments to keep you from feeling it's too separated from the main plot. often using it to introduce characters like us formally meeting the Emperor here (although we have seen him before)

Schmul Sjifris

I would want Shirley. She fine. "Evolution... Such a pretty word." Lloyd was making fun of it or distancing himself from it. He really isnt an egghead. Well, if you think he has bad values thats one thing, but he doesnt really seem to be of one mind with Britannia as a whole.

He really hasnt been caring about much that isnt connected to his project. The politics and the military situations dont seem to interest him.

Because I found something to be fun doesn't suggest in any way that I discounted any poignancy it may have.

Hahaha, damn those girls really are quite savage, "Why don't you go ahead and get back in the closet." Now excuse me while I get caught up in the moment and ALL HAIL BRITANNIA!

PKKite

Britannia is basically anti-communism. They acknowledge the fact nobody is born equal in the world and embrace that. Stating through survival of the fittest and competition the country grows stronger while places like the China has people who get the same amount of wealth thus no drive to work harder. Instead of forcing equality they embrace the diffrences. Britannia is basically what could possibly happen if a government itself became capitalism and took it to the nth degree.

Phillip Ribbink

I think the whole "I was talking to Clovis." thing was in a spiritual sense. Also don't know if you picked up on it, but the guys who spray-painted Suzaku's shirt. Are the same dick-weeds that he and Euphie ran into in the Shinjuku ghetto. The two military nerds who were bitching and moaning about the camera.

IzzO

Meh, the emperors dub VA dosent even come close the the power of the original, thats why i dont like dubs

Harold Haddick

Curtis, you may have already seen it, but just in case, the Japanese VA redubbed the emperor's speech at the end to make it about boobs, which I think would be relevant to your interests. Fair warning, you may end up conflicted about whether Lelouch is right since his father believes ALL HAIL OPPAI!

RyssaVionus

Don't worry, you're meant to be confused about that beginning part. Charles has a lot of cryptic scenes like that. You don't really get to know him until season 2... but honestly, you've already seen enough. It really hit me what an asshole he was when I realized his son's FUNERAL was just another platform to make his racist, propaganda speeches.

Nah, Michael McConnohie does a great job at giving an air of authority to the character worthy of an emperor. Code Geass is one of the shows with both an excellent sub and dub.

Tony Gilbert King

The competition was to bring what the cat had to milly lelouch had the objective but didn't hand it over and suzaku only had the cat so neither won the prize

Miasimon

Little fun fact: Pizza Hut shows up often enough in this show that you could almost call this series an elaborate Pizza Hut commercial. Gonna be honest, it worked for me... kinda want some Pizza Hut, right now. Really wish the brand they used was Little Caesars. "Little C.C. Caesars" has a ring to it.
