I immediately identified with Kyon! And Haruhi is a special, awesome kind of quirky... As well as the other 2 "club members".  :-)

Thanks Morgan!

ArcaneAnomaly

Oh my God, yes. I have such wonderful memories of going through this show back in high school and college.

Anyone else want him to watch it in the order it originally came in? I love the fact that eps we’re out of order

Morgan

Yaaaay!! I wasn't having a great day today, and it was a total treat to see this! I am so glad you like it. I will be sponsoring the whole series. As someone else stated, the episodes were aired out of order, so I'll be relying on my fellow Gooshers to help me figure out the appropriate viewing order for this. You mentioned you like Kyon's voice, and his voice actor is Crispin Freeman, the one and only Itachi Uchiha (among Alucard and others)! I wonder if you'll recognize any other voices in this, hehe. Yaaaaay Haruhi!

I have not personally watched this series, only know it's reputation and what not. Personally I vote for the airing order to get the "authentic" experience (including 8)

CrossZ

I never got into this series. I remember a new season came out, but it was a certain 8 episode arc that made me just lost interest.

Miklar Sihn

While it has been said during the episode, it bears repeating. Poor Mikuru.

Wow, one of my first animes I ever got into... that was over 10 years ago at least. Fun show!

Fun fact Kyon's name is derived from the Greek word for dog. Which makes sense since it's only the first episode and he's already Haruhi's bitch. It also has something of a double meaning since Kyon is the root word for the word cynic. Which also fits Kyon's personality. Despite the fact that cynicism originally had nothing to do with being skeptical. Rather it had everything to do with contempt for ease and pleasure.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya...aka...My Little Dictator can't be this Cute! That said, this anime was one of the few that introduced me to the genre, certainly a classic nostalgia favorite :)
