Nah, the penguins are like "All according to plan". I hoped you would have gleaned that subplot. They even had Milly in a penguin suit dude, they made it very clear

Alright, that was the BIG order: "From this day forward, you shall obey my orders." That's a super order, right there. He doesn't need to geass someone twice if that someone will ALWAYS follow his every order. Makes you wonder why he didn't use THAT order more often... kinda doesn't do him good, now that he's sealed away for all eternity. That scene with Lelouch walking in front of those purple flames will always stick with me as one of the most badass moments in anime.

My thought is that not using that order was a moral choice. He basically turned all those people into slaves to his will. That throws away any moral high ground you may have. He still believed he had the moral high ground until now. At this point he had given it up entirely.

That exchange really sums up Marianne for me. "Aren't you worried about your son?" "What, you think I'm some kind of ideal mother?" :P Really makes me wonder what it was like to grow up with her, because clearly Lelouch cares deeply for her. But then, maybe he martyred her a bit in his memories after her 'death.'
