These were some very interesting - and touching - things that Subaru needed to work out!

Yknow this is my 1st time goin thru season 2 of re zero and I gotta say, it's funny how much subaru reminds me of myself, well the old him, as I've mention a few times in the past I have really bad anxiety, and so one time in grade 9 I was out sick for a week and a half, and cause my anxiety it was actually what made me drop out of school, and my life from then was basically a mirror image of how subaru spent his 3 months of jot going to school, tho for me extend that to 7 years, I was 14 when I dropped out and I'm now 21, tho unlike subaru it doesn't really get better for me, I spent basically 7 years in my room, and very rarely leave it, granted I luckily still have a few good friends who still stayed my friends so I do go out with them every once I'm a while, but I guess it kinda did get better, as actually I am starting school again this year, tho its online. Just cause how much it gets me emotion I gotta say, re zero is by far one of my all time fav anime now. Only 2 anime/manga have made me cry before today, and that was aces death in one piece, the whole anime and manga of "Orange" Also I've said it for one other episode of this series, but this episode is one of my all time fav episodes in any anime ever. Just goes to show how good it is with 2 episodes being able to do that. And man I gotta say, this episode made me cry like I haven't in such a long time, I felt kinda good crying after such a long time. man is this good.

I hope things work out well for you as you move on through life, My Friend!!

This episode definitely helped show how Subaru developed into the person he was when he started this whole story and why he was so excited to be in another world (at least before all the pain and suffering). It was very well done of the author to put it so far into the story rather than dropping it on the audience at the very beginning so know you can go back and see some of the context behind his previous actions.

I've never related to a line more than hearing Subaru say, "I just... didn't want to go to school." The anxiety that's caused by school is so ridiculous, and that's coming from someone who did really good in school and didn't have the hardships that Subaru had. I remember waking up some mornings and just not having the strength or will to go. I'd get up, sit on the edge of my bed, and just muddle in my own mind. I still do it at times thinking about going to work, but I definitely have more motivation thanks to the people around me.

Subaru's mom has really soothing voice. But without looking it up I would not have known the VA is same as Ino.

Yup, I was the same when it came to school. It largely bored me, and it was a struggle to get motivated to go, unless I was playing sports.

Yeah as you can probably tell Subaru go this exaggerated poses from copying his oh so animated Dad. Also the end of it there made it very bittersweet, he finally gets all his family issues dealt with and then he's hit with the realization he wont see his parents ever again because he belongs to a whole different world now. He just has to make the best of what he has now.

I really like that moment where Subaru waits to be late to school because I know I did that. "Well there's no way I'll make it on time, so no point in trying, I'll do it tomorrow" Aside from that Subaru's talks with his parents always make me tear up. It's sad that even though he can restart in this new world he won't be able to see his parents and show them he's doing okay

Found this comment on a video a while back when this episode first aired: The peas and how filled with them Subaru's dish was, represented his problems and how he didn't want to deal with them. He passed them to his Dad who passed them back to him because they are Subaru's problems not his, so Subaru has to deal with them on his own. In the end, they worked together to get rid of the problem.

Tyler

Seeing how kind his parents were and how much they loved him, just thinking about how devastated they must have been when he disappeared is heartbreaking.

rooting for you, fellow Goosher! This episode really encapsulates the heart and soul of the show. Pretty powerful stuff...
