Well, it's immediately obvious that this is definitely my type of humor! What a truly fun cast of characters already!

Wait you did watch ep 3 first right, eps 1 and 2 are special for manga readers to celebrate them getting an anime adaptation, ep 3 is the real first ep

Yeah Episode 3 is the actual first chapter, but watching episodes 1 and 2 are also a nice way to be introduced to all the characters involved in the series. Honestly works better this way especially since this would be the only series Im completely fine watching the fillers.

Brother E

Whenever we actually start this series, I am calling it now that I can see Gintoki or Kagura being Curtis’ favorite character.

RyoujiAyasaki

This is one of the few anime that can get me to just burst out laughing. It's an amazing series and one of my favorites.

Evgeny Karimov

First two episodes are filler, but that's alright. Gintama is the only anime I know where you have to watch all filler, the show usually uses it to make fun of itself. Episodes 1 and 2 are introduction to Gintama where all main characters are introduced, they'll be introduced properly starting from episode 3, beginning of actual plot. Gintama has several voice actors you've already heard, I'll point out characters you should remember best. Gintoki - young Joseph Joestar, Escanor, Katakuri Kagura - Taiga (from Toradora) Otose (Gintoki's landlady) - Orochimaru Zu... I mean, Katsura (rebel leader) - Gaara, Cavendish, Yoshinobu Kubota (from Sakamoto) Hijikata (Shinsengumi's vice commander who loves mayonnaise) - Zoro (yes, you've finally recognized a voice actor by another charachter's voice)

GoldArthur

"Sounds a little bit like Zoro". That's because it is. Hijikata has the same voice actor as Zoro.

Thanks, Pal. I figured that might be the case, but I wasn't confident enough to make the call. 😁

Good to know on the filler. It will be fun, knowing that filler episodes are a good watch! 😊

Once we get to episode 3, I may start doing an infodump on some of the characters/settings/events since a lot of them are based on Japanese history

Phillip Ribbink

You know what I just realized? Before we had Darkness from Konosuba, we had Sacchan from Gintama.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuucccckkkkkk yyyyyeeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhh this series is hilarious. I know you are definitely gonna enjoy this.

SL

Glad you enjoyed it! Went back and forth on whether or not to start you at episode 1 or episode 3, and ultimately decided there wasn’t any harm at starting from episode 1 (since that’s what I did when I first watched the show)
