HUGE thanks to Ryssa for sponsoring this creepy cool show! I really enjoy a bittersweet ending, and that glimmer of recognition from Alice was awesome!

While it's kind of sad... there's something really peaceful about this final episode too. I love the atmosphere they achieve. I like to remind people that Serial Experiments Lain first came out in 1998. It's really impressive to me that this series touches on so many things that are still so present in recent sci-fi stories. Like the fear that the internet or the technology we create will overpower us. Or become so real that we won't be able to tell the difference between it and reality anymore. I only finally sat down to watch Lain for the first time a few years ago. But I don't think I would have enjoyed it quite as much without that extra layer of seeing how well it's held up over time.

I appreciate you sponsoring this one so much, My Friend! I couldn't agree more with your sentiment about the final episode. There's little I like more than a bittersweet conclusion, and this was BRILLIANT in that regard!... That faint glimmer of recollection that Alice had for Lain was beautiful and really touching to me! 😊
